MetsBlog.com : Read: Today in the NL East

Like everyone, I give nothing but respect to Harry Kalas, and will miss him greatly. That said, I don't recall Bob Murphy's death being such a dramatic national news event. And that makes me mad, because Murph was everything to Mets fans that Kalas was to Phillies fans. And he was in the business just as long. I just don't get it, I guess.

MetsBlog.com : Buzz: Mets Discussing Sheffield

I said no before, and I still do, but now that it looks like Omar is trying to get this done, it's almost a bit exciting. A right handed bat could definitely help the team, and if he behaved himself, it could be worth the risk. I guess we'll see.

And if we're three games out because he's not a team player? And if he does "hit" .225 like he did last year? I understand the temptation, and the desire to keep him away from the Phillies, but I don't think Sheffield is a good option for the Mets.
