While some fashions in the stores may put kids and parents at odds, it's not too hard to remember that the parents are still in charge. Nine year olds don't shop on their own, so it's up to parents to moderate and enforce the school and the family's standards. While it may put parents in the middle when stores are filled with inappropriate wares, if no one buys the stuff the manufacturers will wise up and stop making it.
