I'm not sure, I can barely remember being on vacation and I've only been back at work for 3 days. Luckily I have pictures as proof. :-)

Outside of Cheesecake I did a good job going to hole in the walls. And, other than Dukes, I would have been better off going to Cheesecake instead.

The Jets won this past Sunday and I didn't get to watch the game. Maybe if I don't watch on Thursday they'll win again. I'm not sure if the hotel has Directv to show the NFL Network, I'll have to do some research before tomorrow just in case I decide to watch the game.

random rumblings : Fantasy Football Triple Crown (and QpixL)

The coach of the Konmen reiterated this morning that he's "not here to kiss anybody's rings. The Konmen are here to win and are certainly not intimidated by the other teams in the league." And, on a similar note, the Konmen will be picking the Dolphins to win during week 5 against the Jets, ending my run through the first 4 weeks of the season.

Us poor folk can't afford to subscribe to extravagant magazines, any chance you can find the pic on the interweb and link to it here. Otherwise I'll have to find myself a store to check it out.

random rumblings : Fantasy Football 2009 Live Draft Results and Analysis

Well, The Konmen are run just like any other organization, with a board of directors. The board includes the GM of the Konmen (me) and the President of the MFL, a fantasy football league run on the East coast. Although the day-to-day decisions (play/sit) are made by the me, big trade offers are brought to the board for review prior to making a final decision. In this case, we decided to accept the trade rather than making a counteroffer.

Agreed. From what I understand, the original concept was to prevent teams from placing a big man - say Shaq - in the paint where he is never required to move. That type of defense slows the game down and makes it less pleasing to watch. Then again, if the other team has a problem with it, I have this spectacular idea, get players that can actually shoot the ball from beyond 10 feet! And why is it college basketball has no \"illegal defense\" rule and the NBA does?

I'm still curious to find out how you came up with the handle Joker36. I'm sure it's no brain teaser, but find it interesting that there are 2 people out there that use it.

random rumblings : Left lane is for passing!

I'm pretty sure that's what I've been doing already, and I have no qualms cutting someone off in the left lane if they're holding up traffic. But that doesn't take away from the fact that there are a lot of drivers in SoCal that have no concept of how to share the road.

I think it would be fun to generalize people's personalities by the way they drive. Chad, get on that. I want a 500 word post by Monday morning. :)

@mememememe - I agree, and just to make sure people have backups, we've added birthdays and christmas in the event someone forgets to give out proper recognition that one day every year. @Joker - apparently, since you can't make a valid point, you've to start calling me names?! Did you have too much to drink and kill a few too many brain cells on your vacation? :-)

random rumblings : Happy Mother's Day!

You both don't seem to get the point. I'm not against anybody having a day dedicated to them, whether it be the mememememe or mpp or anyone else. My issue is with being told by some advertising company that it's time to celebrate my significant other, my mom, my dad, or whoever. I dedicate days to myself multiple times a month, there's no holiday needed for me to do that, no reliance on others to buy me a gift, an no requirement to receive any phone calls. If anything, it's best that way, there are no expectations. For example, take Valentines Day, which I consider to be the worst of them all. All this day does is make singles feel lonely, put new relationships into a "what should I do" panic, and force couples to do something for each other. And god forbid the boyfriend/husband actually doesn't do something for the girlfriend/wife, it could cause a fight between them for no other reason that we're being told we're supposed to do something and didn't. I'm sorry, if you're using this one day every year to do something for your significant other, there's something wrong. In reality, it's just another day in the year, not a holiday. Ok, let me have it...
