This is a great string of posts! Unfortunately if fear most people, especially the younger generations won’t get it. I never went to college, but I worked my a** off to get where I’m at today. My wife did go to college and she worked and went to school at the same time. Its totally doable if you want it bad enough. Sadly college has become an extension of high school. No real desire to get a degree that will land you a possible job. People don’t take education serious, which is why we are being surpassed by other countries.

You are correct; he will eventually be tried in a tribal court, and will likely face a very minimal punishment and will carry on the job he is currently assigned. Its not right how our people are allowed to blatantly break the law without repercussion. It not only sends mixed messages to the public, but it is a very bad example for our children. There are no lessons learned in situations like this.

Of course they are going to play damage control. Just like any other municipality would do. Please don’t take it that I am defending this guy because what he did was very wrong. As a former Sheriff, I do truly believe that we should be the role models for society and actions like this are not a very good example of exemplary behavior. Being a cop is a very hard thing, everyone hates you 99% of the time and you are only loved by the public 1% of the time, and you are scrutinized by all your actions 100% of the time. It’s a tough job! Glad no one got hurt or killed.

Please note that these statistics are per the federal government. Go ahead and hover your mouse over anyone of the states and see how many jobs were created and how much we borrowed to create those jobs. We would have been much better off putting the 278k per job created back into the hands of every US citizen to spend, now that would have stimulated the country.

The first comments sum it up pretty good. "Though I too despise big banks, you cant ask them to forgive money you borrowed from them". Banks are pushing student loans right now because its federal law you have to pay them back eventually. They’ll garnish your wages and take your tax returns till you get on their repayment program. So the sheeple of the country can’t find jobs so they borrow money to go back to school, to get a degree for a job that doesn’t exist when they graduate, then want to ask their lender to forgive the loan. Give me a break. A bank is a business just like any other; all businesses including mine are looking for ways to make more money, just like some people take the time to clip coupons to save more money. It’s all relative, you just have to be cognizant that it’s happening.

It’s really sad to me to watch Seattle implode and the majority of the comments here are very supportful in the reduction of power law enforcement has because of the DOJ investigation. For the first time ever I agree with the Mayor there is need for concern. You cant tighten the leash on LE because that only loosens it on crime. Just let these men and women do their jobs! If you don’t you are going to have more crime. Keep in mind, Cops have a lot of rules to follow as it is, and its hard not to break a few of those rules along the way, however criminals have no rules to follow.
