How one acts, speaks, and treast others in day to day life tells me how racist or not racist someone is. Go back and read what citizens of Coeur D'Alene had to say during the 1998 debacle--how many of them said, "I don't like the skinheads, but it's nice that they want to keep the blacks out of Idaho" and things of that nature--and tell me again how enlightened the area is. It's not the only place in the US with this issue, but quit trying to make it sound like it's a hotbed of racial harmony. It's easy to be "not racist" when all your neighbors are white--and how about the general view the folks there hold of the local Native tribes? Or the migrant workers? Because it IS a racist hive, it's NOT the most beautiful place in the Northwest (there are plenty of places just as pretty if not prettier, and way less crazy,) and I have never one, in all the times I've been through, had a good experience in Idaho. While I understand being defensive, using northern Idaho--specifically the Coeur D'Alene area--as an example of how Idaho isn't full of racists is really, really stupid.
