Beyond outrageous. I'd LOVE to see the investment portfolios for all those in Congress, the Supreme Court and the Oval Office...THAT'S where military pay should come from!

Big Hollywood : Racist Hollywood: 'Avatar' Actress Says Skin Color Costs Her Work

It's not just Hollywood- I worked in tv news for 10 years. If a news director didn't "need" a white girl with dark hair, I didn't get the job. Had nothing to do with the fact that I'd worked with the best investigative reporting team in the Southeast- or that I'd been news director for 4 years at my college tv station- or that I had every other qualification. It wasn't even Affirmative Action. It was "marketing and branding". And it sucks.

Big Government : Eyewitness to Tea Party Protest: Adding Insult to Insult

Wow- I'm not really a joiner, being an Independent and all, but this article might just get me to join up with the Tea Party. Hell, I might even run for local office! Think anyone will mind those skeletons in my closet?

Big Journalism : Racist Liberal Media Attempts to Brand Tea Parties Racist, Fails

I was born in 1971 in rural north Georgia. I also spent 10 years as a female southern journalist. I've never understood racism from any side. One of my best friends was black- she and I never thought of each other as a color, only as friends. But government and media spent lots of time trying to convince me that I was bad because I was white. I love this article. I will admit that I was not into the Tea Party movement initially (you know how all those wackos latch onto movements like this... :) but it's proven to be a patriotism movement rather than a social issue movement. I'm totally in. Perhaps my husband and I will join the Connecticut Tea Party- oh wait- I think he already has! Anyway, I take comfort knowing that MSNBC and the Big 3 no longer operate as the gatekeepers of information. It's the end of an era and I can't wait to see those like Dylan Ratigan fade into oblivion.

Big Journalism : Statement from James O'Keefe

Dee_321- with all due respect, journalism has changed tremendously over the past ten years. Mr. O'Keefe certainly can be considered a journalist. If you think about how all networks now make celebrities out of regular reporters (Anderson Cooper, et al) or commentators pass as journalists and cover national elections (O'Reilly, Olbermann, Matthews)- the standards for journalists are nearly non-existent now. Another case in point: David Shuster- his bait and switch to get Breitbart to debate him on air, plus his "tweets" a) were like something out of a bad B movie and b) should have resulted in him losing his job. When I worked as an investigative reporter, those tactics would have certainly gotten any reporter fired- if not sued. As far as undercover investigations- the fact that O'Keefe was able to get into an ACORN facility dressed like he was (completely over the top!) and get that stuff on tape was amazing. As someone who has done concealed camera work, his brazen approach is great! I'm interested to see what the actual evidence is in this Landreau case. These guys are charged, not convicted. Be careful... your information can be traced by good private investigators.
