KCRG : Student OK After Being Hit By Car Near Regis Middle School | KCRG-TV9 | Cedar Rapids, Iowa News, Spo

This has to be one of the most dangerous school areas in town. K Ave. runs along Regis/Mt Mercy and Franklin is just 3 blocks away has no SIDEWALKS past the residential area leading to Regis. In the mornings the sun gets in your eyes and you can't see kids walking along the shoulder going to Regis or Franklin . Winter makes it even worse as this is narrow and curves and is also a hill once you get the downward momentum you better not have a kid walking along the side of the road as you come to the curve or you take a chance of hitting them. Traffic constantly backs up with parents trying to unload kids at Regis an others trying to get to Franklin,Garfield an Wash. With 1st Ave under construction even more traffic using these poorly planned streets. No other area has 5 schools in such close proximity to each other and one is a University.(Washington,Franklin,Garfield,Regis,Mt,Mercy)

KCRG : Second Set of Cameras on Northbound I-380 Going Up This Week | KCRG-TV9 | Cedar Rapids, Iowa News, S

What happens if someone has an accident on I-380 involving the mobile unit illegally parked on the interstate? Sounds like a lawsuit just waiting to happen and since city hall is full aware and allows it may be two. I'm surprised our cities legal staff has not advised on this issue yet.

Why is it a private school can renovate an move back into this building but the City Ground transportation center which consisted mostly of a seating area and control room next door to this school cannot move back into its former location. Seems like all our leaders can think about is spending Federal $$$$ no wonder we can't keep up with the tax increases.

GazetteOnline.com : Juror: Kehoe murders disturbing

But she told her doctors who's care she was under that she had wished they had all died then that the kids would be better off--and these same Dr's also confirmed that it was a suicide attempt and they tell the jury that they did not feel she knew right from wrong, these are professionals not just friends they knew all this well before she tried the second time and yet did nothing to protect the kids. Look how long she was under Dr. care talking about how she was not a good enough mother and the deep depression she was in.

What I don't understand is if she was under doctor treatment after the first attempt to kill herself and kids by driving off a bridge, why wasn't child protection services called in to the situation. It could have saved the life of a child. We see parents having their kids taken away for driving them to school drunk but this women drove them into the river and they did nothing to help safe guard her kids other than try to under medicate her???
