Made the exact same move - Bont is just too much impact to ignore.

Taylor or Budarick are choice of those. Probably leaning towards Taylor.

Wow - that's a great point. You'd have to think it does mean the final quarter bullies don't quite clean up as much - the days of watching a Neale/Lloyd/Macrae save our skins in Q4 might not eventuate!

That would be the case if Naismith was your R2, and that's risky. This seems the opposite - paying for a very, very premium bench option essentially!

One other thought - what's the strategy behind putting Naismith as R3, as I'm seeing a few teams moving towards?

Team is in full panic mode - jettisoning players and plans quicker than the flying paper towels at Woolworths.
But...I have the following team which is a 'in case of no good rookies' which is...innovative. It hinges on Jayden Short - who avg 90 in the Marsh and 85 in his last healthy season for just $340k. If he fails, Doedee is the recovery player.

B: Laird, Sicily, Doch, Short, Zerk, Starcevich (Watson, B. Williams)
M: Neale, Fyfe (or Crippa), Kelly, Danger, Oliver, Rowell, Greene, Pickett (Robertson, Mahony, Brown)
R: Grundy, Jacobs (Cameron) - Jacobs is too much like a cow to ignore
F: Whitfield, Martin, Brayshaw, Smith, Taylor, Brander (Budarick, King)

As few rookies as possible on field. If things get really dire...
Jacobs > Naismith
Zerk > Gould
King > J.Stevens
It's radical....but I actually don't hate it.

So - the big question of the day...who does 16 min terms benefit?
Do we look at Nic Nat suddenly?
Do big bodied midfielders (Fyfe, Cripps) gain in value while runners (Whitfield, Gaff) drop?
Will midfielders who can score (McClug, Bont) be even better picks?

Love to hear your thoughts, community. I expect this could define the season.

Loving all of this - and feel much the same. Whitfield hasn't left the side, and Lloyd just can't enter it right now.

Have to say that Ryan looks to be in great shape this season, and cogs should be engine room elite with Taranto out of the side. Option B.

Thanks to the wonders of DPP, there's one central issue that remains for my team:

I've got to choose between having Luke Ryan as a keeper in defence and McCluggage as a hopeful breakout in the midfield. Which would you take?
