Yikes... I hope that somebody will hack their way through it. I have done some research as well and it seems that the same message ("the sim carrier can not be unlocked") was distributed at earlier firmware upgrades. However, not long after the message was posted over WWW the Dev Team managed to solve the problem. So, I can only pray and hope that they will find a solution!

Sorry that. Iphone 3G, firmware 3.1, I presume the baseband is 05.11.07 since I updated to the newest firmware.

Okey, for us silly people that clicked the upgrade button in iTunes that now don't have an iphone to call with; is there no possiblity to dojust downgrade the baseband (in that way unlocking the sim carrier)?
