Uh, C/C++ is in use far more than java. Hell, the JVM your byte code runs in was probably coded in C. The Windows OS is coded in a mixture of C and C++ with some inline asm. The Linux OS is programmed exclusively in C. The innards of Mac OS X are programmed in C and C++, while most of the UI library's and frameworks are written in Objective-C, Core Graphics being a notable exception is written in C. *BSD is programmed in C++ with a C backend.

I am not saying that the rumors and mockups are real, but LiquidMetal is very RF transparent, so it is possible to have decent reception with a LiquidMetal back.
