GazetteOnline.com : Cleveland in Houston

James Cleveland = Ray Thompson, IMO Two incredible talents who never gave themselves the chance to reach their potential for the Hawkeyes. James Cleveland "glided." McNutt? I didn't see that on Saturday. Hope I do. #6, Keenan Davis was closer to the "glider" that I remember from James Cleveland.

GazetteOnline.com : Big Ten Network's four football shows . . .

Also, marc, on this new site, I have always had to wait for the page to load before I can read and manuever the page up & down. Bugs? The previous site loded immediately, no waiting at all. Bugs that are being worked out?

marc, couple of (barely related) things: with the new blog site/format, I cannot clearly see where to click to post a comment on your and Hlas's blogs/columns. On my screen, the "Post a comment" area is all smooshed together so as to be rendered illegible and inaccessible on most click attempts. (I just gave up trying to post on Hlas' white-out column and came over here to try/whine.) Second, and related to Hlas, when was the Michigan white-out in Happy Valley? Was it 2006, when scUM came in 6-0 and beat a 4-2 PSU team, 17-10? If so, white-outs do not equal invincibility.

GazetteOnline.com : This is what Iowa football is up against

Do all Iowa athletes have the same opportunities to go to the "certain camps" that all Ohio or Penn athletes have? I agree that the ratings system itself is inadequate. In fact, I would suggest that it grows more inadequate by the year as prospects are offered scholarships earlier and earlier in the formative high school years, therefore projecting which kids in the 10th and 11th grades will be the top college players in 2-6 years... And then there is the "lazy human nature" piece that allows a kid who has been offered by the top FB schools to be given a free pass to 3 stars or higher.
