Human3rror : I Have Never Prayed so Hard for the Internets to Work...

Buddy, I completely understand. When we started with our online campus we had a lot of connection issues, and I have never prayed so much for technology as I did then - I told my wife I feel really funny praying for computers, but now I do! I'm praying for you guys tonight, and I know there are a lot of other people there too. It's all in God's hands, and He'll do His will. That's your guarantee! All the best for tonight, if I didn't have small group I'd join in!

Starting to use Planning Center Online for volunteer scheduling (think past just the band), it's really amazing Using cbox.ws for the chat element, still exploring options there. Really want a twitter enabled chat with moderation, preferably free :) TweetDeck for Twitter

ChurchCrunch : Socialcast - Free Collaboration Tool for Your Church

I really like this idea, but I'm wondering if Google Wave is going to fill this role. We already use Google Apps as our platform for email/docs/calendar sharing, from the I.T. perspective that means less training necessary if Wave satisfies this need.

Thank you for this, I really needed to hear #2 today. It's hard to be in infancy stages when your heart and vision are looking at the mature results, and that's been frustrating me lately. God is the one in control of the timing, not me.

ChurchCrunch : What Makes a Great Online Campus Pastor?

I think if any good campus pastor ended up in that role he'd discover those terms pretty quickly! However, if he can surround himself with techie people and delegate those roles it can probably go pretty well until he gets comfortable.

ChurchCrunch : What Makes a Great Online Campus Pastor?

I don't agree very much with the first two points on the first list, specifically being a "high-energy self starter", and "having ADD". Describing personality traits like that is limiting what God can do with the person He chooses! In fact, I would say that is the number one important characteristic - that God has called them to that role. THAT is the person who will lead the charge, carry the DNA, and so on, because he can't sleep at night dreaming and planning how to accomplish the vision that God has planted in his heart. That might go without saying, but that would be my #1. The second list fits much better for me, I wholeheartedly agree with Jason Curlee's view on that leadership role.
