Does TinyUmbrella also save APticket when clicking "Save SHSH"? And how would i go about patching the custom firmware?

Sorry for my ignorance. Thanks!

Quick question:

3GS 6.15 baseband on 5.0.1. I need to restore. Can i do this with custom firmware through itunes nice and simply or will i need tinyumbrella's assistance?

I'm confused what happens when Apple stops signing a firmware. Does this mean you can't downgrade to it or does this also mean you cant restore?

Well a factory unlock is a lot less useful if I still need to deal with custome firmwares. Thanks though!

Doesn't look like it. I am in the same situation. Stuck with iPad baseband even though official unlocks are finally here.

I actually signed on to post exactly this. I am jailbroken only to be unlocked with ultrasnow and nothing else. I contacted my friend whom I bought the phone from and he already requested the unlock. Only then did I realize that I cant stock restore with 6.15 baseband.

Will a solution to downgrade the baseband ever be available?

I was jailbroken and unlocked on 3GS on 5.0.1, bb 6.15, tethered - which fixed the location services issue. After running the new untethered jailbreak over the old, the signal keeps dropping out unless i turn location services off. This is extremely unfortunate.

Just warning all you 3GS owners out there with the iPad baseband.

That's too bad. The issue has been resolved for me. Disabling location services will stop it from dropping out, but obviously you won't have location services...

Just updated to 5.0.1, iPhone 3GS unlocked with ultrasn0w.

iMessage says "waiting for activation"

I activated with SAM, still no luck. There was a fix posted a while ago but I can't find the comment. Thanks!

EDIT: It seems I didn't activate with SAM correctly. I deactivated again and plugged into iTunes. iTunes seemed to be doing something. I flipped iMessage on and off a few times and rebooted twice and it just started working. Sorry I don't know the actual steps that got it to work but fiddling around with it as stated should get it working for you. Hope this helps!
