I'm 34, as a child in the late 70's/early 80's I remember solar energy being the next big thing. Ultimately, in addition to being in complete control of the climate of this and the other 8or 9 planets in this solar system, the sun supplies almost all of our energy in one form or another. Why is the only solar powered item I own a calculator? Is the sun just really good at math? Is storage the problem? If you believe that the egyptians and Aztecs were making batteries, then we've been doing this for thousands of years. Aren't we getting any better at it? Is solar power a dead end, or do we only think about every 25 years or so when our good friends in the middle east start playing with the price of oil? He believed that an unloaded gun was a paper weight. The gun he carried on the street is my inheritance and will most likely be loaded but in a lockbox in my bedroom where my kids can't get to it. My healthcare is not expensive. Patients that I've never met our costing our hospitals, who charge our insurance companies, who pass those payments onto me. I'm happy with our current healthcare system, and at the risk of being selfish would prefer not to foot the bill for an even greater number of strangers. Before we decide we need to socialize our system why not remove illegals from our country just as one step, and see if that removes just a small amount of the burden.
