Sweeeeeeeeeet!!!
Contracts that eliminate the right to sue are unjust and, as the court said, unconscionable. The fact that this will put a bit of a leash on Amway's exploitative behavior is just a bonus. What a sleazebag company.

You're joking, right?

>>Do you know what friends and family are? It's not a cell phone plan>>

Oh, okay. It's okay for a landlord to NOT do what he is REQUIRED to do in the lease as long as the tenant has friends and family that will help the tenant deal with the problems created by the landlord's FAILURE to do what he is REQUIRED to do.
That's your logic? You sure you want to stick with that? Alrighty then.
Hahahahaha!

My favorite -- at least my most recent favorite -- is "economic parody" instead of "economic parity." Hahahahahaha

So if the USSC doesn't interpret things the way you would interpret things, then it's interpreting things incorrectly?
Well, why didn't you say so?!
Seriously, though, your reasoning is flawed. The founders realized that they could not possibly anticipate every development or contingency, so they included a mechanism that allows us to 'amend' the constitution. Also, if we are truly to limit ourselves to the founders' 'intent,' one could argue that freeing the slaves in the 19th century was contrary to the founders' wishes and therefore a mistake. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you don't actually think we should still be practicing slavery.

I assume you're referring to the 'Ohio-wasn't-a-state' nonsense. 'The 'mistake' regarding Ohio's statehood was addressed and rectified in 1953 . And even if the mistake mattered (which I don't believe it did), Ohio was still a territory, and its residents were thus citizens. So Ohio statehood was irrelevant.
Also, we function under the Constitution, not under the federalist papers.

Seriously, though, income tax is authorized by the 16th Amendment. Look it up! (Or just read it below:)

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.
