I am not sure where to place this idea but here it is. I know alot of people are taking pictures of tea bags or are placing just the tags in a envelope and mailing them to Congress as a protest.
Since Memorial Day is approaching I would like to see Americans send to Congress the first name and branch of service for themselves or any family members that have truly served this country.
Read a small story in our local paper about the effects of the economy on some boat owners. Seems some people are abandoning boats they can no longer pay for or store. Ted Lieu of California reintroduced legislation that passed the state transportation committee last week.This legislation would encourage boat owners to surrender their marginally seaworthy vessels to the state. For owners that abandon there would be a fine of $1000.00 .For those that surrender their boat to the state, the cost of disposal would be charged in fees to exsisting boat owners.
A bailout for irresponsible boat owners.
I saw a story after the fact on our local news concerning Mark Sanford of South Carolina facing pressure for not accepting stimulus funds for his state. A protest with several hundred people opposing Mark Sanford was held on Monday, I did not see this covered by other outlets.
If you are a congressman or senator you must actually vote on bills.No just present or abstain but actually vote and be there. Voting records should be readily available with election materials you send out or displayed for public viewing
I do not claim to know what the founding fathers were thinking but they put it down for all of us to read and live by. We have to remember that the founders were living as British subjects.They were not free men and had been where we are going.
I think the founders had a very clear purpose in defining the seperate church and state. They did not want the government to establish a religion. I think they read the bible and looked to the future much more than we give them credit for.
Return education to the local government. The federal government and other states should not have collective input
of education programs we are taxed for at the local level.
Unless states can demonstrate a balanced budget they should not be able to receive funds for other programs.
Stop the practice of wasting all the money bugeted to an agency before the end of the fiscal year. This is done so that more money will be appropriated again and again.
I wish for and end to politicians running for office and holding office at the same time. I feel that the American people pay the salaries of public servants and should get what they pay for rather than paying someone while they are running for another office. We should not be paying someone for inattention while they are seeking a raise.
