Yes, I have a cousin how is an officer, but you know what....I STILL think the majority of police are good as opposed to bad. They are everyday people like you and I who have families and people who love them. And I don't think of them as big headed or above me. I know some lawyers who are big headed and above me, and some CEO's, and some rich people who think that way. I do not see law enforcement as that way!! Some people need to look beyond stereotypes and see a person for who they are. Not everyone is the same, (just as not all CEO's are, rich people, or lawyers.) You need to base a person on their actions, and these 2 did nothing wrong except get into an accident while being cops...
I wonder too why he was ever let out in the first place. He has a long history of crimes. I hope that THIS time he stays in jail and doesn't come out to rob or kill another person again. (don't know why he got out in the first place...he killed someone!!)
Out of the 8 comments above, I only found one that was not criticizing, condescending, or just rude in content. This just floors me....Why can't there be any respect for law enforcement? They do cover our butts after all. Does that mean that they can't make mistakes? I think people need to start focusing more on the good aspects of people, cops, doctors, lawyers included...and not always the bad. They are people after all!! There is good and bad everywhere you go! That is just a fact of life!
People can fight all night long, but all I want to say is that "I, meaning I personally do not feel it is my responsibility to pay for a woman to have an abortion thru my tax dollars." The majority of the abortions come from those who had consensual sex. If you choose to do it, find out you are pregnant and choose to abort, then use your own money. It would be no different than if someone purchased a home knowing that they could not afford it, did it anyway cause they wanted the satisfaction of being a home owner in the one of the expensive subdivisions, and then decided that I needed to bail them out so they could keep their home. Why should I bail someone out who recklessly had sex and got pregnant? They need to take care of it on their own!!
It is really scary that someone with violent of a background is once again on our streets, and robbling bands. Who will he rob next, and then I hope that no one gets in the way, otherwise they are DEAD!! I sometimes really hate to read the news!!

I truly hope that someone also can buy it and keep it as THE South Bend Motor Speedway. I had heard at one point that developers were looking to purchase the property for another big name store (such as WalMart....that is not the name they put out there.) So, I really truly hope whomever buys it will do right with it's location and it's heritage!! I guess Ryan Newman looked into buying ti a few years ago, never heard what happened to that. I just hope that the new owner's do the right thing.
I agree, why should this be done? What about the long standing residents who actually like this nickname? There is nothing wrong or offensive about it, so why change it? It boggles my mind....I think it is just another waste of money as you do!!
Irish, it was during the Clinton administration (Democrat) that the whole overseas jobs push happened...(or at least that is what I remember and what others have confirmed. Can't blame THAT on the Repubs...
