KATU - Portland, OR : Woman with flesh-eating disease refusing pain meds | National & World News | KATU.com - Portland New

Pain meds are not all that they are cracked up to be. Morphine, for example, makes me sweat, have bed spins, and I usually end up throwing up only making everything else much much worse. I have never had a good time on morphine. I have to agree with this brave woman. Morpine is despensed like candy, these days.

Pssst....KATU...... Your link should say "Another murder case NEAR Oregon" (Orchards Washington case). Domestic abuse can fester for many years. I am watching one we love go back to the same abuser for the 3rd time. It hurts because no matter how hard you try to convince the victim, they always justify why they have to return.

KATU - Portland, OR : Scientist: Dock from Japan may be a threat to local marine life | Outdoors | KATU.com - Portland New

A natural disaster brings natural organisms to our coast have scientist worried? I'm sorry, but let nature take its course. I wish man would stop playing god. This is how life propergates. Now that it's beached, the sun will dry the criters out. Let the seagulls have a feast for once. Scientists should be more worried about the hundreds of cargo ships that transit our oceans each day and the criters they bring. This is nothing to compare what we have already done. Hypocrites. We need to be more concerned of the articles of hazardous waste that will be floating up than a few tiny crabs or mussels. Besides....I bet they taste great with some garlic butter and a cold frosty Henry's.

That Laotian man deserves to be commended and given recognition for return our soldier by our people. That was the RIGHT thing to do and by golly, he should be rewarded with a metal of honor. What a great person! Welcome home! Rest in peace, Sgt. Hassenger. Seems fitting on June 6th....D-Day....to finally arrive home.

Sounds like Ashley and Dawn are now spilling the beans.... I'll bet they are masters of manipulation getting their friends and family to help cover it up.... now stabbing each other in the back because they still cannot accept responsiblity. I would love to be a fly on the wall at this trial. In spite of my comments, one thing is clear: A very nice woman with a gentle heart with many who loved her has left this good earth. My condolences to her family and friends. How sad they now must endure this.

Compared to Van Halen show in Tacoma...... the FOOT stomped VH's arsh last night. Joe's screaming solos put EVH to bed, Michael Anthony's thumping sounds and wailing vocals was nothing more than glorious. Sammy is a still a red rocker and CORRECTION TO KATU.... it was Kenny Arnoff on the drums who laid down the rythmn. The house rocked. My two teen sons even got to High Five with Sammy. That concert ROCKED.

I see the lawsuit as a plot to get TH talking a hail mary pass, however everyone should know that a $10 million judgement is only worth the paper it is written on. We can only hope TH talks. Her life must be miserable right now living isolated and with everyone in the world hating her guts. Even so, will 10 million give her any reason to spill her guts? Probably not. As for Kyron mom, Desiree....all I have to say is keep throwing it at TH with all your might. Hopefully she wil eventually cave in.

KATU - Portland, OR : Final effort today to keep Reynolds teachers from striking | Local & Regional | KATU.com - Portland

The only updates us PARENTS are getting is from watching the news or Facebook RUMORS. Even Reynolds "STRIKE HOTLINE" still has the same old message from FRIDAY May 18th. (Call 503-491-3405). Lack of information is really hurting everyone. This strike has incredibly poor timing. Parents are confused and left scrambling. Quite frankly, I am not sure which side to support. Both sides of the issue are valid. I just want my kids back on schedule so they can finish the school year. Just hoped they could have held out negoiations until the summer time. ******* Update, THE HOTLINE has now been updated ***************
