I learned that Sherrie writes REALLY LONG COMMENTS, but I appreciate where her heart is coming from. I learned that I am NEVER going to do another cartoon blogger thing, because I become awashed in guilt that I might forget someone. I learned that my daughter is terrified of mosquito hawks, and that I'm probably a bad mom for running inside so I can laugh at her. I learned that my dog apparently really does sleep all day, cuz I haven't left the house. And I learned that you can't trust the Snuggie people.

Yes, I am. I'm actually a bit disappointed that I'm not Audrey, but Bette was a pretty kicking broad, too. You are a Bette -- "I must be strong"

The Red Clay Diaries : Linty mints and Happy Meal toys

Oh Steph, look on the bright side -- at least your breath is always minty fresh! There are sections of my purse that I don't even go into. I have told myself many times, "Self, starting tomorrow, you are going to wake up before the kids, take a shower and get dressed! That way you will feel motivated to get some things done!" Then the morning comes, and I say to myself, "What is this, communist China or something? The shower will still be there after the kids get to school, and I've been neglecting quality time with my temperpedic."

What is up with all the plumbing horror stories? Did you read Carol's Plunger 101 and 102? Just consider yourself very fortunate that YOUR dh didn't go all "Do It Yourselfer" like mine did when we fished a diaper out of our septic system...what's that fancy hotel with all the fountains? Oh yeah -- The Bellagio -- picture that with stinky, poop water and me vomiting in the yard. (your welcome.)

The Red Clay Diaries : No time to post. Too busy witnessing history.

"No time to post"? What was this? (It was a very good "not post".) I listened today while I was painting someone's nursery. It is a very big deal. I pray that everyone (all races, creeds and color) re-reads Dr. King's speech in its entirity, and takes his words to heart. His words bring me to tears every time I read them.

Well, I'm glad you gals were convicted about it finally. Good luck with ALL OF THAT! (She types at 11:50 pm on a Monday night.) Nah, I spent a few minutes on the computer on Saturday, didn't even turn it on yesterday. I've gotta work tomorrow, so there's that. As an added bonus, I got to spend several uninterrupted hours with my kids. Bonus? Mucho blog fodder! (Don't you just hate it when people miss the point?)

The Red Clay Diaries : Too good (bad?) to be true

Sherri - It is good to know that you're not the only one that still has Christmas stuff to put away isn't it? I look at my tree, and the dining room table covered with various snowmen, garland, wise men and sweet baby Jesus and think to myself, "Wow, I really need to put this stuff away." But then as I drive out of my neighborhood and see the plastic light up nativity scene in the yard at the end of the street I think to myself, "Now THOSE people are slackers!" (OW! OW! Plank in the eye! Plank in the eye!) And while I consider it a blessing to be a source of encouragement to you and my other bloggity gal pals, I don't know if using Steph and me as the shining example of "Normal" is necessarily an accurate means of measurement.

LET THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH DECLARE: KATDISH IS RIGHT! I TOLD YOU SO! KATDISH IS RIGHT! I TOLD YOU SO! Steph - Maybe it's just dysentary or some other horrible communicable disease, not the chocolate. (You're welcome. I'm a glass half-full kind of gal.) Helen - I am in dumbstruck awe of your full blown lunacy followed by brief moments of apparent sanity. I am not worthy. (hanging my head in shame)

The Red Clay Diaries : Dear Mr. Spielberg, You need to pay for my therapy

I have a brother that lives in Hawaii (on North Shore). He is an avid surfer and has seen numerous sharks. But I would agree with the earlier comment about more sharks in warmer waters. And jellyfish -- lest we not forget the jellyfish! Thanks to Hurricane Ike, we don't have much of a beach to go to anymore. Even though describing the brown water that smashed against the rocks and diry sand in Galveston is incredibly generous at best. (I'm not a Galveston hater -- just a realist!) I think you should move to Vegas and become a lounge singer/stand-up comedian. I'd pay a dollar to see that!
