<title>Filipino Voices : Country for Sale</title>
<link>http://filipinovoices.com/countryforsale#IDComment19732702</link>
<description>Its far better for private individuals/companies to own the lands in the Philippines rather than the powerful political families. Property, when in private hands, tend to produce more goods and services for the economy while Public Property tends to produce more bureaucracy. Though as always, governments have a bad reputation of enforcing property rights. I dont think that Philippines Government should insist &amp;quot;sustainable&amp;quot; farming. That is long gone. Philippines has a small arable lands compared to Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, etc... plus, typhoons are common. Its better for Philippines to import food then export something it produce well. Saudi Arabia gets this, they export oil then import food. If food supplies dwindle overtime, then population too must decline. Maybe Manila would be less crowded since everyone will be back to their provinces farming...</description>
