Zelda Dungeon : The Oddities of Hyrule's Government

The thing is Zelda are classic games (some of the best), if have reached the point of questioning the politics of Hyrule you need to stop playing it. We ALL noticed how Zelda is the princess but acts like a Queen in most games, we just don't bother questioning it. If you want to question something Zelda related ask why there was only two shields and no magic in TP. Or why the game was far too easy. Ask about the gameplay, thats what matters. How many games do you know of that people love where the story is complex and the gameplay poor, opposed to a game where the gameplay is awesome while the story in quite simplistic?

How would Barons and the economy affect how Link travels through dungeons and fights monsters? Gameplay 1st, Story 2nd.
Zelda needs no story other than saving Zelda and fighting Ganon

You are looking into it far too much. Hyrule isn't real. People look into Zelda too much all the time from things such as how deeply people look into the timline to the significance of one single charecter. It is only a game, and like Flying Fisch said too much emphasis is put on the story line. If it was a game set in a realistic environment then you could question every aspect, but this is Zelda so don't. Just play the games and enjoy them. As for the thing about Cole, a country can have a Monarchy and a Government Britain does, and while the Queen does not hold much power today the King/Queen did in the Tudor period along with the Government (of sorts)

Zelda Dungeon : 30 Expectations of Zelda Wii

1) Just 'cause something has happened in a previous game doesn't mean it can't be done again. 2) You don't know what mandatory means? I think you might need your mummy's permision to be on the internet. Also, if you are using the internet can't you look up the word mandatory while you are browsing, it would take you about three seconds.

A huge disappointment in TP was the lack of magic. No Fire, or Silver/Light arrows. No Goddess powers, nothing. To finish off I would like to say the diary sound really cool (though it is unlikely to happen) Zelda Wii should have an instrument in it. Ganon should be in the game, and Hyrule IS a fairytale land it should be mostly peaceful (while evil is absent) and have very little industrial development. It is a simplistic fairytale land. Of course there should be voice acting, though not for Link.

Less mandatory items is incorrectly worded, it should say more optional items, which is obviously a yes. In TP the only non-mandatory items are the Hawkeye, extra Bomb Bags (and bomblings) as well as the Magic Armor the extra bottles and wallets and the Hylain shield(although everyone is gonna buy the minus people doing 3 Heart no shield challenge). Let’s forget about the wallet bomb and bottle expansions (there are a given in all recent Zelda games) the way to get all the remaining stuff is to buy them Why not have more sidequests that end with items not rupees? I know that to get the Magic Armor you have to open Malo Mart but once that’s done you still buy the Armor. And only two Shields in the Whole game WTF? In ALttP there were a ton of items, the cane and the cape being just two optional items I can think of. There are loads of them, Sheild and Sword upgrades the flute (Ocarina) as well as the bug catching net. Also I think that one of the Three medallions was optional.

There are some things on the list I agree with, and some I don't. What I want to do is compare TP with ALttP and Ocarina. I think that ALttP is THE BEST game in the series with OoT at a very close second. As far a TP goes it is a very good game but it falls down in a few places: It is too easy. Almost everything about TP is easy, the bosses are very easy and the Ganon(dorf) sword fight was very dissapionting. Wii Motion Plus is bound to make swordplay a lot better though. The only real challenge in the game are some puzzels and Darknuts. ALttP was full of challenges and the Final battle with Ganon puts the final bosses in TP and OoT to shame. It was very hard and very fun. I have to agree with less focus on story. I'm not saying go back to stories that have the simplicity of the ones you will find on the SNES but OoT's story was fine. The story in TP wasn't all needed. You don't need tiny details, you can draw inferences from just one peice of information. I mean let’s face it, less focus on story= less contradictions in the already messed up timeline.
