Would I hire an illegal immigrants.. haha I don’t think so. I believe and very strongly about this, is that all immigrants should come here legally. No questions asked if they didn’t I would call immigration and have them deported. I think that having these people in our country robs Americans of everything they are entitled to. If I have to pay taxes, so do they. I do believe that big business do hire illegal immigrants and quite frankly it is wrong, because one, for the business it is a source of cheap labor, second they know that they illegals have no choice or rights so they could basally do whatever they want with them, charge them 2 bucks and hour. Knowing they have nowhere to run and if they do they will be deported. In business perspective who would not want a source of cheap labor that won’t complain no matter how hard you work them. I think this is also an issue of ethics how could business owners to this to these people, they are people right? So why are we “enslaving them for work.” Yes they do the jobs that Americans don’t want to do, however there are some job that they have that any American looking for work right now would take. Immigrants also talk about the American dream, I also believe the American dream still exist and that Americans today still strive to achieve it. If immigrants want to be a part of the American dream, in which I have no problem with, they need to be legal. By them living under the system will guarantee them nothing, they only way is to become a citizen and be a part of the system. Again pay taxes, sing our anthem, and salute our flag. In the end I would not hiring any illegal immigrants one because it is against the law. I think that government should be stricter on the protocol that enforces the business do not hire illegals. I think that they should be regulating checking that they have all the proper forms regarding I-9’s and immigration status. I think that it is all just crap that we let these people come to our country and take advantage of our system, just because we have no solution to the problem, well at least we acknowledge that we have a problem, and yes we can’t get rid of them all but I think we could put a dent in the numbers. But again as a consumer I would not be happy with higher prices that result, also border patrol has given lots of Americans jobs. So in the end eliminating one problem creates another, which is a never ending cycle that crashes the economy.
I think the answer that everyone will think in their minds would be yes of course, anyone who hangs out with “people” who they don’t belong with are defiantly up to no good. However, to me it seems like an absolutely ridiculous remark to make. I have several black friends, and even Latino friends like myself, that I hang out with on almost a weekly basis. Being from a city like Philadelphia constantly I was surround by different race, most of the time not by choice, not that it bothered me, but in school, on the bus, no matter what I was always interacting with other races. So would you think I would like being called a poser just because I hang out with my friends? I think not. However, I do remember a time where everyone even white people were trying to make a fashion statement or something. It was the time where everyone wore really long white t-shirts that looked like dresses and jeans of some sort, what I’m trying to say is yes, one it looked really ridiculous, like really they couldn’t get a shirt to fit their size. But anyways it seemed to be a black thing because that who I noticed starting to wear them but then more and more white people started to do it too, even my own brother. Poser, agh maybe I don’t really know a mean who am I to be the fashion police. The fact that it looks really bad doesn’t make them a poser but I guess in the eyes of the third party who have no insight in the matter, see 3 black kids with 1 white kid I think something in their head goes off. However I think in this day and age we are more open to the friends we choose. But I do think that when we choose our friends we should without having to change our appearance or act differently to appeal to them. So yes I think that people who change who they really are considered posers, but again there are others who simply don’t see race and just for the people they are and don’t worry about changing they are the not the posers we think they are. But then again people will do and perceive that they see and therefore alter what they think because they are ignorant. But I still do think people just do and no think about what it might seems like to other people which would then make them look like something they are not. I think all of us need to take a step back and look at the big picture, and not worry so much and over analyze everything situation.
This is a really good question, I often thought about this when I was a freshmen, thinking about what I would do and or react if I got paired with a gay roommate. Since I have thought about this many times I think I am well prepared to answer this question. What I would do if I had a gay room, ay. The answer to this is nothing. That’s right nothing. I would carry on as normal. Because why would I let the fact that he like guys or girls bother me. I mean not all gay guys are attracted to straight guys. I think in the right setting I would get more comfortable with it. Personally I would like to find out more about him, meaning asking him questions about his sexually, like when he first realized it, stuff like that. I think that the only way to become completely comfortable with it is to know more about it. So what I’m saying is learning more about your roommate like we all do over time? The more we know about it the better we are all off. I going to switch directions here because I think the question is directed on if your roommate was openly gay. But what I’m saying is what if your roommate wasn’t openly gay. In this situation I think it would be really hard as first because he’s not open about it but you know that he’s gay, I think that this would be so, so award. What is even worse is that he knows you know and he doesn’t say anything about it. So we go through this I’m not sure if he knows should I tell him, blah blah blah. And you as the roommate just want to know, because really you don’t care but the fact that you know, for some reason just seems more soothing. So for me personally I think that after I know my roommate. I think that I would have to openly ask him if he gay or not. I think that asking the question he very questionable, but as a roommate you know you’re going to have to ask it, and asking the question I think is just as scary as your roommate answering the question. However in the end I could care less if my roommate is gay or not, it wouldn’t bother me if he was gay because I have lots of gay friends and I think that we would get along very well regardless if he’s gay or not. To wrap it up I think that it all depends on the bond of the roommates in order to ask these questions. I don’t care gay or not.
First off I would like to say that I’ am a fan of this show however what people do not realize that each time they do this, it is a group of different people. So I can only imagine that they try and spin the bias a certain way. But anyway as many of you my first reaction was to laugh as you could easily lift the bike right over the sign. However, when it came to the females the fact that they brought all the stuff with them, like the saw, bolt cutters, etc. My first thought was that one; do they really know to work that stuff and two; female don’t normally try and saw or break things without a male counterpart at their side. And yes, we guys will usually do whatever we can to help out a damsel in distress or a really hot blonde with short shorts and heels. When it came to the males the white male seemed to have it all together when asked questions by the passer by. Just like to point out that whoever you are black, white, male, female I don’t care who you are if you have a saw trying to cut loose a bike that is suspicious. Maybe 9 times out of 10 you really lost your key and are trying to get you bike free. But if you were going to steal a bike, would you do it in broad daylight while people are walking about or wait to later when there is no one around. Exactly, but let’s get back to it. When the black guy came to steal the bike he came in real “ghetto” looking cloths but besides that I think what really gave him away was his attitude that the white male did not have. He was real rude when he was asked questions and really didn’t have the greatest approach as the white guy. Again I like to point out that every time they did this a new group of people witnessed this so who knows if the same person that reported the black guys would have most likely reported the white guy. We just don’t know. I feel that this particular experiment that they did was done in a way where there was too many variables and really could not get an accurate conclusion. However I agree that there are some things that we take more notice to because we want to and others that we simply ignore. I do feel that will do look more towards the black or brown guy for being the bad guy, but in this day in this generation, I feel it’s being set upon by themselves. Nothing said or done, that I think will ever change that.
The Haiti Project, when I first heard about this I wasn’t really sure what to expect. However hat ever it was it sounded cool. I just thought that any way to help Haiti after their disaster would be fun and rewarding. When I was watching the videos, it’s just amazing that year’s after the disaster it still looks the way it does. It’s not like the US where something happens and within a couple of months it starts to rebuild itself. I think that it is great that Haiti is taking the initivate to start rebuilding themselves. They are doing what they can and really trying to make it on their own without depending on other countries for aid. They do have a lot of inspiring people that are willing to start and create new things for businesses ideas. I find it fantastic that they are making it on their own and try to do what they can to help, and stimulate Haiti’s economy. As far as the project goes I am really excited to see what happens and how our group decides to respond. I like the fact that the entrepreneurs are so different, each in there every way. I think the one thing that I find that is really hard is that these entrepreneurs are doing everything from nothing. They don’t have fancy machinery or a labor force. Most of the time it’s just them and only them making their products. I think it is great that they are reaching out, not for handouts but for advice on business practices and ways they can improve. It just funny because as Americans we don’t really see the after effects we only see what happens initially then we forget about it. However they are still living like they have since the earthquake hit. As an American I feel so fortunate so live in a country where we have money and resources to respond to national disasters. I feel that Haiti cannot make it on their own I believe that they need that support from their government and for them not to be receiving that just baffles me. However they are still trying to move on. They are still living in condemned buildings and huts, some not even just brick walls and a tarp over; in this case what they called a church. I think that it is important that we as Americans realize this and try and do whatever we can to help as the world’s most powerful county it is our duty to help this country just like we are doing Iraq and Afghanistan. However here we have a country that is willing and trying. All what they are looking for is single olive branch.
The 9/11 attacks are one of the most controversial events that happened in our US history, there have been so many conspiracies that that surround it. Personally I don’t not think that the US government had anything to do with it, however I do have my doughts. How can we say that we had nothing to do with it, because all we are doing is covering most of it up? For example I can’t believe that the only camera that was operating at the pentagon was the single camera at the security booth. It’s the pentagon they have to have more cameras, so we know there was why they don’t release the videos. Also when we think about it 3,000 people being involved in a conspiracy theory, I have my doughts but honestly how did they keep the secret of Area 51 for so long, there had to be people in on that, planes and buses traveling back and forth. So realistically yea maybe 3,000 people could be hiding out some place, sure why not, its possible right? However I just cant see 3,000 people being in on something like that, I mean someone would have had to have talked by now. Anyways I think our government I a lot to do with 9/11 cover up and all. I mean its national security we can’t expose everything or nothing would be secure. But overall I do nothing that our government was involved, I mean for our government to have a significant agenda in that day is totally unreal. However whenever I think of that day we constantly reminded and put back to the place where we all were on the day of the attacks, and all I see in my head, are the images of the planes hitting the towers, over and over and over again. Like a never ending cycle. I heard that we hear stories of how people that should have been in the tower were not their due to something that held them up and not being able to make it to work. It’s the stories like that really bring it home for a lot of us. I really think that our government plays a huge part, in trying to keep America safe. Every day we have solders in in Iraq and Afigistian fighting keep America safe for terrorist alike. So to me that fact that the US government is promoting terrorist I think is very unlikely. Overall I am happy that we are doing so much to protect this country to we can live free. I don’t mind the extra security but I guess what I am trying to say is when we say that is enough, how much security it is going to take?
When I think of President Obama I think about him as black, first and foremost. However I know that he is multiracial. And yes to be honest, his race does affect my option of him, well maybe. I guess that face that he is a democrat and I am a diehard republican. As a member of my nations military I fully respect Obama, I might not always believe in his policy but I do respect him. Because really It doesn’t matter who stands up there to lead our government just as long as they do a good job. Thinking back on the election I think that most of America voted for him because he was black not at the fact that he was a good candidate. Even though a lot of people, white people, voted for him know that he might be a good candidate. Would It have been different if there was a black woman running for president. Would she win because she was a woman or because she was black? Race has absolutely nothing to do with the way I view President Obama. Being a Republican, I never would have voted for him regardless of his race. I think he is a highly-educated family man with some good ideas, but for the most part our views do not match up. It's sad to think that Republicans or members of a different political party might have voted for Barak Obama for his skin color, despite their conflicting views.
I believe that he is overall ok, not great may even sup-par. I really hate when he does speeches he move his head around so much, that it hurts to watch him. I fell he makes some good points but every time he makes a speech it seems to be the same speech as before just tweaked a little bit. I just find that after his speeches he I walk away from them not believing anything he said I feel that he lies through his teeth some time. I just walk away saying bull shit. However as far as him being black in the end really doesn’t matter what matter is that people voted because he was black and not because they knew he could better our nation.
Again I would not have voted for Obama because again I am a republican. And as the time did not believe in his policy, so the fact is that I didn’t really care if he was black, blue, pink or grey. I would not have votes for him. The fact that he’s black really doesn’t matter. I think to this day he has brought so real issues to light but I think went about them the wrong way. In the end I don’t want him around for a second term.
OK. Well interracial dating on the whole is one big controversial issue among relationships today. It accurate to say that people of the opposite race are attracted to each other, with no doubt about it, I mean why not their human. However I have to admit that personally I don’t have a problem that other people do it because love is love and you can fight love. However, I do not see myself ever being in an interracial relationship, not because I think it is wrong, but because of my parents and family. My family means more to me than anything, so to know that they would not approve of someone; from what I understand “a person of color”, not so much the race aspect. I assume that they would be fine with me date a “white” Asian girl, but not an African American girl. I guess I could always go behind my parents back and date anyway. But then I would lose the respect that they had for me as well as the respect for my date. So in that aspect I don’t think I could date personally, but it doesn’t mean that I’m not attracted to “women of color.” As far as when I see interracial couples, it one of those things where you have to stop a look, Just because it’s not seen too often, but it something that clicks in your mind that says something it not right. However when you see any couple you really can’t be anything but happy for them no matter if they are interracial or not. My only big concern for interracial couples is their decision to have kids because let’s just say a black girl and a white guy decide to have kids. One day you are going to have explained to your child, why mommy is black and daddy is white. Also the public image of that, I mean what if you see a black and white couple walking down the street with interracial children. It’s one of those things that are going to grab people’s attention. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing but just imagine what you and your kids would go through all your life. But like a said I fully support interracial couple and relationships, again personally I would not do just because of the respect I would loose from my family and the implications it could put on my future children. I wish things were a lot different in our world today but in this day and age. Interracial dating is still considered to be taboo for the people who want it to be. I think that one day it will change but for now we just have to deal with the stop and stares.
