KOMO - Seattle, WA : New Microsoft store draws big crowd for Miley Cyrus tickets | Bellevue News

This will be good for the borderline pedophiles who want to see Miley Cyrus's raunchy version of Hanna Montana. You know, the same folks who waited with baited breath for the Olson twins to be old enough to shoot porn movies. Sorry, but so what? This is not news.

Hmmmm.... More Chicago School of Economics, here. Let's take a successful, reliable, well-trusted product, and tinker with it. Maybe we won't just screw it up. Maybe. Times two.

Awwww....c'mon, Joe You know that much of the security imposed by TSA is feel-good-make-work. You can still "mule" explosives and weapons in body cavities just like the drug dealers do. And they still give you aluminum soda cans on the airplane, and with a little work, it is just as dangerous as a box cutter. So are many other non-metallic "shivs" (such as sharpened tooth brushes, etc.). None of those options are novel, yet TSA hasn't taken steps to prevent that, such as soda beverages in plastic bottles aboard aircraft, cavity searches, armed undercover sky marshalls on every flight, and profiling. Why? The most effective security measure since 911 has been reinforcing the cockpit doors--that, and the fact that after 911, no passenger is going to cower in the event of a hijacking. Remember Richard Reid, a.k.a. the Shoe-Bomber? That guy is lucky he even lived.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : New Zealand tries to keep \'The Hobbit\' | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Breaking News | KOMO News

Yes, Union coercion exists. I was a (non-union) manger for a telephone company, and there were IBEW workers, and I saw plenty of Union abuses. Later, at another telecomm job, I was required to join the IBEW as a union worker, and I saw plenty of Corporate abuses. The sad truth is, unions would never have evolved if corporations treated their employees fairly. A classic example of this is Hewlett Packard (circa 1970s). Several unions attempted to organize HP workers and failed. Why? Because HP was already paying their workers union-equivalent pay, had excellent benefits, and generous leave schedules, yet the company was still successful. Imagine that.

"Sounds much like what Boeing did with regards to the union interferance in Washington State by going somewhere (South Carolina) more conducive to employee freedom and business. " Employee Freedom ? Or Employee Cercion? "Let's build a plant in an economically depressed are with high unemployment so we can impose our corporate rules on desperate unemployed people who, ouit of fear, won't resist our imperatives". Boeing management has been shysty ever since the McDonnell Douglas merger. Boeing was supposed to be the dominant company in that merger (hence the name retension), yet MD management is calling the shots (hence the HQ move to the Midwest). Business as usual in Corporate America, Rider.
