Uhh...while I'm appalled at this girl's behavior and reckless endangerment of herself, her passengers, her unborn child and the trooper involved-don't you think it's a little jacked up to be coming onto a public forum and posting her personal business? I'm no fan of abortion as a birth control method but the girl does have a right to her privacy. Your posting here smacks of juvenile "mean girl" tactics. While you may get an initial "high" from slamming your "friend" I think you may want to reign yourself in. In 20 years, you will look back at this and kick yourself. Being "in the know" might seem exciting when you get to anonymously spread rumors now, but you may experience things in your life you wish you could change in the future and be unable to because someone did something similar to you. Think before you act. Just a tip from a former mean girl. :)

Hey TerinaK-I think pitbulls are pretty neat dogs myself. That being said I am 100% sure I am not the type of person who can keep one as a pet. I don't hate the breed at all. I just hate the tweakers I typically see them with. The danger I perceive with bully type dogs has to do with owner irresponsibility and breeding. I'm glad there are people like you who are knowledgeble about the breeds and can control and love those dogs. Don't take stories like this personally. I think everybody understands that ANY dog can bite or main someone. Yeah-pitbulls and similar breeds spend a fair amount of time in the news but most people recognize it's owner error when there is an event. I'd hate to see the breed die out just because of the history of irresponsible ownership. I agree there should be some type of licensing or monitoring for owners of specific breeds.

I wish I could 1 million thumbs up your response.
Pets are the responsibilty of their owners. If this had been a wild, rabid raccoon that wandered in her dog door-that's another issue. These dogs were the property (dogs are defined as property here) of someone who failed to control/contain them. These dogs were complained about numerous times before for wandering loose and "terrorizing" people in the neighborhood. Clearly, the city/county had a responsibility to act on those complaints. I can't place a value on what I think the settlement should have been but I do believe this was a justified verdict.

Oh yeah. I'm sure this happened because of the gay "lifestye". It couldn't possibly be due to anything else. Pssst...this "type of thing" has been happening all over this planet for a long time (even in the bible). Murder isn't a new thing. It didn't start happening recently. Triage your outrage why don't you?

I wonder how many cases will be reopened in light of this email? The prosecutor showed a serious lack of integrity.

Actually, I served 9 years in the Army as a medic. My salary was little more than minimum wage in the beginning. I considered that job to be highly demanding. I didn't complain when I was expected to do things in my job description.
Whatever the wage is for special needs transportation drivers is, I'm certain they are informed what their job is. This bus driver did not perform his/her job adequately.

If some people have their knickers in a knot, they should be speaking with their congressmen. The ADA was enacted in 1990 because it was recognized that some people required protection of law. If I were to believe some of the comments on this story, my son should be kept at home his entire life, not ever receiving the benefit of an education. Yes, he requires some special care. He is fully capable and has demonstrated that through a program called RPM (Rapid Promting Method). He gets bussed on a special bus with a driver who is well aware of his limitations (non-verbal,autism). It's all part of the country's plan to educate every child in the least restrictive environment. If he was neuro-typical, his needs would be met in a regular classroom since he wouldn't need early intervention. My taxes would still support special education whether I liked it or not. I think these people who are upset with the fact that every child, disabled or not, is entitled by law to an appropriate education should hop off the message boards and drive themselves to Olympia to complain to the people who can help them change the laws. .

It says, "Kiss me I'm Irish" which of course translates roughly into, "please beat me up because I deserve it". This girl IS a victim. It doesn't matter if she "started the whole thing". She didn't commit battery. Yeah, maybe she said some things that angered her fellow students but the appropriate response is to tell an adult at the school-NOT take matters into your own hands and hit her.
