You can have a pistol if you are addicted to alcohol, you just can't get a carry permit.

Again, not defending the goofy stuff the sheriff said, but if you read the article you would see he has approved 1300 permits and only refused 35 BEFORE the new law was passed. He is hardly an enemy of concealed carry.

Good luck performing a citizens arrest on an LE officer. If you try it, let me know when you plan on doing it. It would be fun to watch.

That's true if you don't mind going to jail if you get caught.

One thing to remember in all of this is that Sheriff Gardner did open up the CCW program in Linn County and gave out tons of permits BEFORE this new law was passed. Remember that prior to Gardner, NOBODY in Linn County got a CCW. He believes law abiding citizens should be able to have a CCW without having to meet some ridiculous standard, and is a friend of the CCW program. I'm not defending some of the stuff that he said, because some of it was pretty goofy, just keep in mind where he really stands on your right to carry overall. Also remember that KCRG probably interviewed him for 15 minutes to pull out the 15 seconds of video they used. When that video gets edited, sometimes the overall point someone is trying to make gets lost in the editing process. Again, I'm not defending the goofy points he was making, just putting it all in perspective.

I know you are just a troll looking to start something, and I shouldn't feed the trolls, but...

What's a band handgun? Like a rubber band gun? A gun handgun carried by someone in a band?

Your post is so clueless I don't even know where to start.

You don't need a purchase permit to get a concealed permit. If you already own a handgun, you can get a concealed permit and then it acts as your purchase permit as well. If you DON"T want a concealed permit, you just want a gun for shooting at the range or for home protection, then all you need is a purchase permit. When your purchase permit expires in a year, you can keep (but not carry concealed obviously) that gun you purchased forever without ever getting any permit of any kind at all.

You don't need a carry permit if you are just going to use your gun illegally anyway. Just go ahead and carry it illegally. What's the difference?

No mention in the story as to a blood alchohol test for the kid. At 12:48 AM, I would guess the odds are decent he was drunk. Not that I'm offering that as an excuse for punching an old man since there really isn't an excuse for that. Just wondering if that added to the incident.

That's good for you, you live in one of the areas where Bullsnakes are common, though I doubt you could round up dozens on short notice no matter where you live. Most parts of the state they are in decline. Where (in general) do you live, Linn County? I do know a little bit about this kinda stuff. www.herpjournal.com is my website.
What possible agenda (that's a great internet arguing term because you can "prove" any theory you want to throw out there by claiming someone has a secret agenda) could the DNR have for listing Bullsnakes as threatened? They want to overpopulate the state with Bullsnakes to bring in the massive out of state Bullsnake hunting tourism dollars? You deer and turkey statement may make sense, but it sure doesn't apply in this case.

I didn't expect that. Thanks for owning up. I actually did like your other joke a bit. I even got it, even if I'm not smart enough to work at NASA.
