Here is the issue, the wrong .ipsw file was downloaded. there are two, one says IPHONE(3.0xxxxx) same firmware name, BUT there is another one that says IPHONE 3g (3.0xxxx) if you download the first one, it wont work, need to make sure its the 2nd one, right before the IPHONE 3GS .ipsw!
