Breitbart.com : Palin formally steps down as Alaska governor

Reagan would love her - they defend and promote the same basic principles: small goverment, strong defense, family values, faith in the common man, love for freedom, common sense, etc... The fact that you were unable to make this comparison yourself suprises me. Why do you call her a dimwit? Most of the criticism of Palin coming from Democrats quickly degrades into name calling. The is because of the hatred they feel for her because they despise what she stands for. It would be much more effective and persuasive to debate the issues then resort to name calling - you dimwit.

mirrorimage- As a Democrat myself, you could not be more wrong. The Democrat party has taken a major wrong turn. The once great party has lost its bearings and has the country headed in the wrong direction. The intense negative reaction she gets from the media is a good indicator of her strength and potential as a political foe. I am not blinded by my party allegiance, I can see that the current leaders in the Democrat party are advancing the country towards Socialism. I believe MS. Palin truly believes in the greatness of this country and so do I - that is the kind of leader I want - regardless of party.

I am a Democrat - and I absolutely love this lady. She is so natural and gives off such a positive vibe. Reminds me much of Ronald Reagan - the only Republican presidential candidate I ever voted for. The media look so ridiculous always trying to slam her. I believe MANY DEMOCRATS, like myself, will gladly support her if she decides to run. May God bless her in whatever she chooses to do.

Breitbart.com : Palin\'s PAC reports raising more than $730,000

As a long time Democrat - Palin has my interest. The constant media bashing of her has made me realize how truly biased they are. I have no respect for the mainstream media anymore and Palin strikes me as a very down to earth and decent person. Her recent comment that she would support any candidiate, Republican or Democrat, that shares her core values is further evidence that she is sincere about doing what is best for this country. She is taking arrows because many fear her charisma. She puts me in mind of Reagan and we all know how popular he was among the voters, including Democrats. Time will tell... but I got a feeling the country may be ready for her type in 2012.

KY3 : Helmet law repeal heads to Gov. Nixon | KY3 | Video

Thinkmore ... I disagree. The purpose of lawmakers is to make sure people are as safe as possible. REALLY? Show me the specific Article of the Missouri Constitution or the US Constitution to support your claim. Legislation concering best interest and well being of the populus does not imply mandating limits on freedom. Gov't laws should help protect us from each other - not protect us from ourselves - BIG DIFFERENCE thinkmore. A helmet isn't protecting anyone except the rider. Have you ever seen someone die from cirrhosis of the liver from alcohol abuse? I have, yet I don't think we should outlaw liquor...do you? Personal responsibility and freedom; these are the issues at hand.

To poster thinkmore... "a good law maker makes the best choice to save as many lives as they can" - that is not the purpose of lawmakers. Reducing the speed limit on all highways to 25 mph - requiring everyone to exercise and eat fruits and vegetables - these and countless other ideas would save lives. Do you really want some other person deciding what is best for you and then forcing you to comply? If you want to wear a helmet fine; that my choice too. But it is not my place, nor the goverments, to make those decisions for other adults.

To me this is an issue of freedom. It is not the goverments job to protect me from myself. A sanitized life is not appealing to me. A motorcycle is my primary mode of transportation. I will continue to wear a helmet regardless of any helmet law - that is my choice. But I would never try and force my neighbor to do the same. A free man should have the right to exercise his own free will - when there is no risk to anybody but himself. Same goes for seat belt laws, let adults decide for themselves.
