Big Government : Federal Union Flips Out Over 0.8% Increase in Pension Contribution

If an elected official was to put his job/career on hold for a single term in office, then leave political life for good and return to that job, I'd say yes, they served their country. But the current band of thieves have decided that being a permanent member of the ruling class is their due. A single term, yes you served. Run for reelection, sorry.

"Working class men and women who have dedicated their lives to serve their country..." Unless you wear the uniform of a branch of the U.S. military, you have NOT dedicated your life to serving this country. You have applied for, and accepted a JOB. You are an employee, like any other employee. I am sick and tired of every yahoo who claims to be "serving the country", when they are doing nothing of the kind. If you are a politician, at any level, you are NOT serving. In some (arguably most) cases you are taking, but you aren't giving up anything to serve. You don't have any of your rights suspended while you perform your JOB. If you are just another government worker, doing you best to place obstacles in my way as I pursue my happiness, you are NOT serving. Government workers are now paid more than private industry workers. Have better benefits packages. And, whine more than anyone in the private sector. Public sector Union employees --- Screw you!

Big Government : Big Labor Plans Super Bowl Chaos

"*** Just In *** Washington Post reports..." I knew it. Union members are just a bunch of cowards. They make an empty threat then run away and hide behind their "daddy's" skirts. If they really believe they are in the right, they should stand and defend their position. But it's all just big talk from little people. Hey Nancy, apparently we HAVE "seen nothing", and you are it.

Big Government : Youth Vote in Iowa Not Energized For 2012

Hmmm... Seems shooting from the hip isn't my greatest strength. :-)

Being the victim of Section8 neighbors, I don't havetoo manygood thingsto say about that program. Do I support giving a helping hand to those that are working their butts off to improve themselves and their family? Hell Yes! Do I give a good God Damn about the lazy freaks who scam the system for a free ride. Hell No. But then, people who are proactively working towards improvement have moved past the childhood stage and have shown themselves to be adults.

Again, only ADULTS should be voting.

My main drive was to point out that the \"children\" have driven us to the brink. They are like drunken teenagers. They want more, more, more, and never ask who's buying, or what's it's going to cost in the end.

We deny people the right to vote all the time. And it's legal. We don't let CHILDREN vote. They are still citizens, but they can't vote. If you are a 25 year old and are still getting insurance though your mommy and daddy, you shouldn't be voting. If you haven't been out of your parents house and supporting your self for a year or more, you shouldn't be allowed to vote. And, attending college on your parents dime does not qualify as living on your own. If you move back in with your parents, you shouldn't be allowed to vote. If you don't pay federal taxes, you shouldn't be voting. Children don't vote. Only adults.

Big Government : Memo to Republicans: Where's ObamaCare's Replacement?

If you want healthcare in America to be fixed, then make sure the laws force ALL government workers into the same medical plan as our military/veterans. NO EXEMPTIONS. This must include the President on down to the folks that clean the offices at night. EVERYONE. Congress members, and cabinet members (especially CZARS) and judges must all wait in line for hours like everyone else before getting to see the doctor, or even the triage nurse. As long as they, the government class, have a separate system, we, the citizenry, are going to get screwed.

No. My youngest brother ruined his '65 Stang. I, on the other hand was enjoying my '56 Chevy pick-up (half way modified to street-rod condition: 283 V8, 3/4 race cam, 12:1 high comp pistons, Edelbrock intake, dual Holly quads, etc), AND my '68 Buick Grand Sport California Edition (350 V8, only slightly modified), ladder (sway) bars, lifted back end, and in the words of Deep Purple, "Big fat tires and everything!" Of course this was all back in '78 or '79. Now I drive a Prius. :-( At least it's not Powder Blue and equipped with a small lap dog.

Well, I for one, will not stop using the word "tranny". I have often regaled my friends of my brothers failed tranny operation. We laughed, and cried, about the horrible outcome of his endeavors. Trying to stuff an over-sized 4-speed tranny into a '65 Mustang completely ruined that car. Cutting that cross-member 'just to make a better fit', was the end of a beautiful automobile. Ended up parting it out for a few hundred bucks.

Big Hollywood : Top One-Percenter Roger Waters Trashes ... The Top One Percent

I have never liked The Wall. Except for Comfortably Numb, the album is a gigantic waste of vinyl. Comfortably Numb was rescued by Gilmour. As usual, his guitar work lifted that song from the black hole that is Roger's world, and made something beautiful. My favorite lines... "When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse out of the corner of my eye. I turned to look, but it was gone. I can not put my finger on it now The child is grown the dream is gone. I have become comfortably numb." I will say, when Roger gets it right, he's one of the best. Now the Animals album is just plain great from the first needle drop to the final lift.
