juliagulia, just how close do you follow politics and what the Congress does and what the President is doing? I think not so much.
He, they are trying to get a cap and trade tax passed, and boy will it effect the middle class (remember the promise, no tax hike for the middle class)? well, from what I read if this is passed everything bought, used (gas, electricity, propane, etc) will go way up yes, it will go up at the manufacturing, production level but they will pass it on to everyone in the way of price increases. So everytime you turn on a light bulb your paying a higher tax via the electric co. And don't forget the "smart grid" they the government will be able to regulate your termostat not directly, but if you don't keep it at the "average temp" every kilowatt highter you go the more you will pay per kilowatt.
We have just seen the begininning with the tobacco tax.......................

Well said Revltun, and you hit the nail on the head. I told my sister to watch out for a fat tax (didn't NY already try that on soda pot?) oh and I'm also concerned about my bottled water tax (you know plastic being bad and all)

I know how you feel, last week my cigarettes went up $4.00 a carton (new increase from the tobacco company) then today the new 62 or 67 cents per pack tax. That means about $6.70 additional money when I buy another carton. It's sad the tobacco industry decided to raise the price two weeks before the new tax went into effect. They are going to price themselves out of business (with the help of Uncle Sam). And I bet the tobacco farmers don't see a cent of the price increase. (My parents had a tobacco farm in Kentucky years ago)

Ah, you forgot Rangle, and Shummer. Ah heck, every Rep. and every Senator should be investigated!!!! One is just as corrupt as the next. Until they are all gone and a new set of Congressional leaders take their place, we're in for more of the same.

TITLE(S): (italics indicate a title for a portion of a bill)
OFFICIAL TITLE AS INTRODUCED:
Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.

****Guess I'd better start a new batch of letters to my Representative, Senators and members of all the committees. Please join me and write letters, phone calls what ever it takes. While some of us want legislation to limit the terms of Rep. and Senators, others are trying to amend the constitution to remove the limits on the Presidency.

I saw a post, can't remember where about H.R. Res 5 a bill in the House of Representatives by Rep. Serrano and thought it couldn't possibly be correct. So I went to ushouse.gov and found it myself, here is the description:

what do you think of the Administration possibly releasing the UIGHURS (Turkish speaking Muslems from Western China) detainees from GITMO in the US, giving them green cards, setting them up on welfare and other "entitlments" ?
They can not send them back to China for fear of death or torture, and 100 countries have refused to take them. How can We The People keep these terrorist out of our own neighborhoods?

Doesn't suprise me...that's the way they operate from the state level all the way to capitol hill. Pass bills fast before the public has had a chanch to react. I expect that to be a federal ruling very soon.
