Laurie,

Good for you. How old are your kids? Did they have a good time at the rally? My in-laws went and loved it.
You're right: we ultimately make time for the things we value most.

Sincerely,
Josh

Thanks to the several readers who pointed out my glaring mistake. The Supreme Court ruling grew out of R-71 in Washington state, not California's Proposition 8 (although Prop. 8 figured prominently in oral arguments). I've corrected the text and I sincerely apologize.

I take your points. Over the long haul, K.G. was a more complete, and more dominant, player.
But remember: I was comparing Kevin McHale's performance in 1986 vs. Kevin Garnett's performance in 2010. On that (admittedly narrow) basis, McHale posted superior numbers, at least on rebounding and especially scoring.
Barkley had high praise for McHale, but I would pick Tim Duncan or Karl Malone over McHale in a second.

You're right. While I haven't seen Season 8, Islamic radicals featured prominently only in Seasons 2 and 4. By Season 7, an imam is depicted as having a calming influence on Jack Bauer.

TEST: I'd like to see more cameras in US cities, but cameras are worthless without real people to watch the video and flag security concerns. We can't delude ourselves into thinking that ever-greater technology can thwart terrorist plots. The key lesson is that vigilance from everyday Americans will continue to be our first and best defense.

No doubt there are nuggets of wisdom in all those tweets, but has there ever been a medium like Twitter where the signal to noise ratio is so poor yet the content so popular?
