First up, nope, the music is going to change. I'm working on some stuff. Re: Sim Ant and Theme Hospital, YES! That evolved into a very deep love for The Sims (original version) for me as well. Sim Ant was certainly a huge part of my early development. That spider was truly a massive force in that game in a way that most modern games don't have equivalents. I'm super happy to hear that you have enjoyed the show throughout our various iterations. The new show will be different, but it will still be us. I'm always trying to find better ways to engage with the audience. G+ has proven to be the best way yet, so I will keep trying to take that approach. Certainly for the new show I will post a dedicated thread on G+ for each episode. I just wish comments could cross-pollinate between our sites and G+, but that may come in time. This is probably my longest comment ever, so talk to you next week. I really think Jon struck gold with PTW-- but then again, I REALLY love dumb things. ;P Also, you're not alone, Erik IS like a 60+ year old with those emails chains (I'm glad I didn't have to say it).

I understand how you feel, but please do stick around. Even though we won't be doing recaps, we will still be trying to point everyone to the stuff they should be listening to. As for pitching in, we appreciate it, but in the end, it wasn't about not having enough writers. This is a change that needs to be made to make CM better and more useful. As I said, thanks for sticking with us, and keep an eye out for bigger and better (and fresher) things from CM.

This was a GREAT episode. There is a lot of interesting Sony NGP talk with Jeff on. This is the kind of episode that really shows the benefit of Whiskey Media having different focused sites under their umbrella that can collaborate when needed.

Really? That seems like it would be targeted at fans (as you mentioned) more than first time readers. A 1000 page hardcover doesn't seem like it would be a comfortable reading experience. Edit: After looking at it, totally going with the compendium. The price of that thing justifies all other shortcomings. Thanks for the recommendation Alfred!

I think Jon put it well. We certainly weren't trying to "rally troops" or propagate any ideas of some sort of corporate conspiracy, it was just quite odd timing. 1UP has always been unique in that it has consistently seemed like a much tighter-nit group than any other outlet (along outside of the Whiskey Media crew), so when a long-time member of the "family" is suddenly let go without any explanation, it is a bit jarring. Echoing Jon again, the redesign is great, and as always, 1UP will continue to be a focal point for us as a key source of personality and solid commentary in the game space. Thanks for taking time to address the issue here, as well as on the latest at1UP.
