If i were the bishops and their followers, i'd just let this issue pass. Follow the lead of the CBCP, when after issuing the apology they remain silent, knowing that from past experience, the Filipinos forget quickly.

To dwell on this issue would not be a good position for them to take; heed Atty. Tolentino's veiled warning, i feel that they have more ammunition against erring bishops, perhaps in the form of more letters of solicitations, and perhaps not just for vehicles. Perhaps the CBCP considered this too, thus partly explaining their hasty apology.

I agree with the editorial, finally this government isn't treating us citizens like mushrooms: kept in the dark and fed with manure!

I hate to feed the troll, but i just can't resist.

Quoting little prince:

"AN APOLOGY IS FREELY GIVEN, IF IT WAS DEMANDED IT IS NO LONGER AN APOLOGY." BUT IT WILL SHOW THE CHARACTER OF THE PERSON..... ahhmmm.....

change ko lang kaunti:

"A gift is freely given, if it was demanded it is no longer a gift." it's a bribe. It will show the character of the person.

Sa dami na ng mga corruption and plunder cases involving the surname "Garcia", pwede na mag appoint ng deputy ombudsman na ang cases lang na ihahandle ay "Garcia" cases.

Astig, Deputy Ombudsman for Luzon, Deputy Ombudsman for the Visayas, Deputy Ombudsman for Mindanao, Deputy Ombudsman for the Military and Police, and a Deputy Ombudsman for Garcias. hehe

Ayos ang mga linya ni Uriarte ah? tignan nyo ito:

“Have mercy on my family, not to me anymore,” she said.

parang linya lang sa isang Carlo J. Caparas movie ano? Teka, teka, di ba si Caparas eh nalink din sa PCSO for over P1 Billion na kinita sa pagproduce ng mga teleserye? hmmm...

titong feria, you said:

"How can you compare a brand new pajero to aP200k, several year old nissan pathfinder? You are outrageously wrong!"

una, wala naman akong sinabing old nissan pathfinder ah? Since ang sinasabi ng senators na wala namang Pajero, ang sinasabi ko, meron tumanggap ng pera from the PCSO to purchase a brand new Mitsubishi Montero worth P1.7 Million. I also said that the Mitsubishi Pajero is also called a Mitsubishi Montero, citing wikipedia. So saan doon ang old nissan pathfinder?

Since you already mentioned the old nissan pathfinder, the Bishop of Bontoc Lagawe who purchased the second hand Nissan Pathfinder for P280,000 actually received P600,000 from PCSO for the same purpose. Pero ang sinauli nila was the vehicle, not the P600,000.

Kaya if you look at it, in a way kung gusto lang din ipahiya ng todo ang mga obispo, pwede eh, pero nagpigil pa din ang bagong PCSO. tipong that's just the tip of the miter, este iceberg...

Hi little prince, just a few points:

1) Antoine de Saint-Exupéry wants the name back;

2) Writing in all CAPS means you are shouting; are you compensating by shouting because your argument is weak?

3) Since you like links, look at this... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_Pajero ... specifically to the part:

The Mitsubishi Pajero (pronounced /pəˈdʒɛroʊ/, Spanish: [paˈxeɾo], is a sport utility vehicle manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors... However, since pajero is an offensive term for "wanker" in Spanish, alternative names have been used for many markets overseas. It is known as the Mitsubishi Montero (meaning "mountain warrior") ...

4) The bishop from Butuan received from the PCSO a check for the exact amount to purchase a Mitsubishi Montero;

Potayto, potahtoe, tomayto, tomahtoe, pajero, montero, call it what you want, it's the same thing.
