The current temp in Waldoboro, Maine is 78º F. I am sure many of us would love to trade temps right now.

Blog Cabin : Matt Speaks Out!

The floors are stunning. Just lovely. And as for a carport...I grew up in an old house. It didn't have a carport, and I never missed having one. At first, I was bummed out that they changed this house so drastically from its 1920s look, but they have really done a spectacular job. Bravo!

Oh, the Shaker wall style won. <pout> OK, I'm over it. At least we're one week closer to seeing what the Outbuilding vote is going to be. That gray, unavailable link has me totally intrigued. Go Traditional!

What is that rectangular object near the window in the kitchen? Is it a counter, a pantry, the washer / dryer, a window seat...elevator, fishing pole rack, murphy bed, portal to another dimension??? Oh, the fun of house plans!

That's the nice thing about these older homes - the rooms can be reconfigured with a little creativity and reconstruction.

Cabin schmabin. I think this is the dream home! It definitely has me dreaming. I have a few questions: 1 - How did they fix the foundations problems? I envision that they slid a giant cookie sheet under the whole house and then gently laid the house onto the brick base, but that can't be right. :) I would be curious to know. 2 - Will there be anything under the house, like storage? It looks like they have some windows built into the brick on the back side of the house. 3 - Where are the 16 acres that come with the house located? It looks like there are homes on both sides of the house that are fairly close. Maybe you have a survey map we could check out? I'm not that concerned about laundry or bathroom layout. I absolutely love the floor plans. Thanks!
