May I begin my days and make decisions out of a lifestyle of prayer. They fasted and prayed and sent them off. Lord be my guide.

I am thankful that God uses folks that are far from perfect. May I strive with all I am to be the man God is calling me to become. Lord, I ask for your grace and wisdom in this journey.

Jesus said to them, "Exert every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to." I spend far to many hours of my day worrying about things that don't really matter. I worry about things that are important but they miss the mark of being eternally important. Lord continue to remind me that Your kingdom should be my focus and the thought , "Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!"

Lord there is so much work to be done-I ask for workers in the harvest field. Raise up men and women who are committed to reaching others for Christ.

MyFellowshipJournal : Luke 9:1-50

There are so many great lessons in this passage, but something hit me for the first time. When Moses and Elijah were with Jesus they were talking about his departure which was to happen in Jerusalem. So, why were they talking about this?? I think they were encouraging Jesus to stay the course. They were hereos of the faith, and they had come to give Jesus encouragement to stay the course. We will face many things in our lives that we will need the encouragement of another. Let us offer ourselves to live in a way that brings life to others.

Great thoughts Linda. This morning my thoughts were caught up in verse 39 “Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you.” And he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city how much Jesus had done for him. I wonder how often we actively proclaim how much Jesus has done for us. When the morning comes do I rejoice in what the Lord has done in my life and pray that God allows me to make today a divine story that proclaims the eternal. Lord, may I live today with a passion to proclaim what you have done for me.

There are so many distractions that can happen in a given day. Something on television, my phone, my kids, my little home project, most anything really. It is so easy to say I want God's Word to be priority, but then life happens. Lord, allow me to have an open heart and open ears to hear and apply your Word in my life.

John's disciples ask Jesus, "Are you the One we are looking for or should we look for another? They were looking, waiting, expecting the coming Messiah. They were focused on looking for the promised Christ. May we be focused and expectant about our King who is coming back to take us home. Lord, may I live today full of expectation.

And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.” What does He mean catching men? I want to challange us to look around and identify men and woman who are going after others in and outside of church to grow in spiritual maturity. Jesus spent 3 years with the disciples teaching and training them to go out and reach others. Who are the people you can identify around you doing the same thing? I pray believers would regularly encourage one another to be active in living out our faith and training others to do the same!

I see myself sitting in the synagogue that day when Jesus was handed the scroll of Isaiah. Jesus began to read that passage proclaiming that the Spirit of the Lord was upon Him and he had been sent to proclaim liberty to the captives. I would have been thinking who the heck was this masked man and was he serious? I wonder if I would have gotten over my disbelief and seen God at work in the synagogue that morning. I thank you God for sending your son and I ask the kind of faith that hears your truth and obeys. You are worthy of our praise. You are mighty. You are Lord.

When Jesus went into the desert he was led by the Spirit. The fact that Jesus was led by the Spirit made all the difference. It is no surprise that around every corner temptation is waiting, The question is whether I am willing to trust and walk by the Spirit or will I try to do it myself.

MyFellowshipJournal : 1 Corinthians 13

I was struck as I read verse 11 "When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways." If we do not love as we are called to in this chapter we are acting like children, we are imature. I don't know about you, but I want to be wise and mature in my faith, not a child. This is another challange for us all, GROW UP! We need to leave our childish ways and use the gifts God has given us. Lord, guide and lead us to LOVE MUCH.

MyFellowshipJournal : 1 Corinthians 11:1-34

I often wonder what people who have not trusted Christ think about how we do communion. We take the bread and cup to celebrate the Lord's death. We celebrate death and are encouraged to keep on celebrating. This is a bit countercultural wouldn't you say? The picture of Christ's death continues to remind us what He did for us on the cross and how those who accept Him are part of the new covenant. Thank you Lord for all you did for us on the cross.

I agree Paul's earlier post about the "grass is greener" mentality. I ask that the Lord continues to remind me of v17 Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him. This is my rule in all the churches. God has given us all responsibilities in His kingdom and my desire is to live where God has me.

MyFellowshipJournal : 1 Corinthians 6

Often times we read verses 9 and 10 and think, I'm goood, not guilty of these things. The truth is we are all guilty of being thieves, greedy, swindlers and so on.... Every day brings opportunities to turn from God's plan and follow our own desires and so much of the time we simply get caught up following our desires. I'm not trying to hurt anyone, and yeah I do tend to give into my selfish desires. Lord, thank you that we have been washed, sanctified, and justified for your glory. Give us eyes to follow your desires and thoughts.
