Howard's Notebook : Google AdSense

Might help if you could reduce the amount of changes to the login/registration requirements to comment on your various blogs Jim. Seems like every other month I have to register a different way to access one of them or the other. lol I track lots of RSS feeds via the easy layout of the FLOCK browser and yours are the only ones that seem to make me re-register semi-irregularly. Everywhere else has been "register" let my browser "remember" and go about my business. At least this one has been stable for awhile but even it won't allow my browser to maintain its password because of the layout/format of the various options. Luckily I frequent it often enough to remember the login and password to use! lol

This the very same socialized health care you've been bragging about already having Jim? Yup. Thought so. It's all just forced insurance purchasing my friend and always has been.

Howard's Notebook : Jobless benefits

Why should they ask the American people now if they didn't care what we thought about billions for corporations banks and war? Why should they haggle over how to pay for meager unemployment benefits when they didn't bat an eye over all that's gone before? I say foul. There is nothing to debate. Extend the damned benefits and forget about it. Their horseshit economics caused the situation the American people are suffering through!

Howard's Notebook : Want Viagra? GOP Wants Police Background Check First!

If you think it over for a bit you'll find that the parties have swapped roles in recent history. Except the Republicans have literally gone off the deep end. Witness the behavior on the floors of Congress. It's literally no different than watching Jerry Springer!

Howard's Notebook : No Saturday Mail?

And the actual unemployment rate is much higher. It doesn't include the thousands that ran out of benefits nor the thousands that never qualified or who're now vastly underemployed. 30% of the unemployed are among the lowest wage earners and only 3% are from the highest paying positions.

Howard's Notebook : FBI probing PA school webcam spy case

If the possibility of remote monitoring in this manner wasn't included in the signed agreements, it's clearly a violation of privacy. If it had been, say, even use of mics or key loggers, I'd never sign such an agreement in the first place but many parents are so woefully ill equipped to read and comprehend such documents they'd likely be unaware of the possible ramifications of signing them anyway. I'm one of those parents that can easily locate and disable such things.

Howard's Notebook : The fastest browser on Earth

So much relies on each individual's ISP connection & system performance at any given moment that this seems nearly inconsequential for people who're already comfortable with their chosen browser's built in functionality and available add-ons. Although I'm sure it's of great interest to incessant system and O/S tweakers! lol.

Howard's Notebook : This featured video is available for rental

I couldn't find a link to the specific video above and when I visited that channel I learned why. They don't provide them. If you want to know what the rental thing was about please visit/revisit the channel in question and watch the video that explains the rental thing. I forget the exact title but it's easy to spot as it contains the words video rental explained etc. Apparently that is simply an optional payment one can make in order to view the entire 3 hour show rather than the always free "clips" provided. It's simply another means they're trying to help offset the cost of producing the programs they present while helping YouTube with their experimental optional rental system.

Howard's Notebook : Windows 7 Release Candidate

A windows.old directory (folder for noobs) is created even during a clean install. It will contain your old program files documents picture library etc. I'd suggest placing a downloads or backup folder for your downloaded installation packages in your user folder before installing 7. This will make it far easier to drill down into windows.old to get at and restore programs. Point here is it's amazing how much old data is still retrievable even after a clean install of 7. I just moved my picture and documents contents straight from old to new. Poof all good. A backup naturally makes restoring programs easier but the old copies being there also make reinstallations a snap. Some stuff may even run right from the windows.old/program files folder but don't rely on it.

Howard's Notebook : Goggle Page Rank

Maybe it's proportional to the number of times the word Google is included in the posts and comments? If so then typing Google as much as possible might make your Google page rank go up in accordance with Google's self serving agenda? Nah, surely Google wouldn't use any tricks as lowly as that s a basis adjusting the Google page ranking of blogs that participate in Google adsense. Now would they? Guess I'll go Google the phenomenon and see how many Google related hits come up in that Google search! Did I forget to mention Google? lmao

You forget dealing with KC Ice storms already? A day is nothing really but is worse when of course you have no idea how long it might end up being for lack of word. I've done 3 weeks w/o power in the past. Never check the food in the freezer until after the power comes back on. Of course after a couple of days it's a moot point. What the hell were neighbors doing with the firewood if they don't have fireplaces? Scary!

Howard's Notebook : Fox “news” and Glenn Beck say Global Warming is a scam!

Stupid people (don't kid yourself into thinking they're not the majority) think that record snowfalls on the east coast are proof against warming because they choose to ignore the research that shows all manner of disruptions to typical weather patterns will arise from it. They're the same people totally ignoring blatant indicators it's true such as the fact they're literally hauling in snow by truckloads to the Winter Olympics in Vancouver because it simply hasn't snowed enough there this year to perform the Winter games!
