1st off Vicky, I am a "Teabagger" and I may not have a clue about economics but I have been very successfully self employed for the last 20 + years. And you? At 46 I could retire but I enjoy working.(maybe for not much longer though). By WHO, I assume you mean GW. While I agree he was partially responsible for this you have your head in the sand if you don't start by laying this at the feet of the CRA. I might go back a little further to some Nixon policies but I really think the real roots of this current mess started with Carter, and expanded by Clinton, then blown sky hi during GW by the left. As a Libertarian I feel both parties are complicit in this bailout/stimulus crap. Iraq isn't even on the radar compared to the money spent/promised the last 120 days. BTW I wasn't silent with GW either.

What a smart a**. If you truly believed in the scientific method you would read the report of 650+ scientists who disagree with the man made global warming crisis. I printed it out ( all 260 or so pages) and have almost finished it. Interesting reading if you really want to educate yourself. Thank you bugmenot, but unfortunately the EPA does whatever the hell it wants to do. I am in an industry that is basically micromanaged by the EPA (energy) and I can tell you that $5.00 gasoline at the pump is still very much in our future due to these clowns. That has been their goal all along. Drop in demand due to the current financial problem is the only reason prices have dropped. The new EPA rules combined with the current administrations attempt to completely decimate the domestic oil and gas industry will completely halt any future recovery. As soon as demand starts back up the prices will go higher than ever before. America doesn't realize yet that putting Salazar in charge of the DOI screwed us to the wall. This guy is going to set the industry back 50 years and he will get away with it because we are all trying to stop a full blown Socialist attack on our country. I said it before and it bears repeating; the lefties found a home in the environmental movement when Reagan chased them underground. Control the energy and you will control the country.

I am with you shining. The first President I was able to vote for was President Reagan. Still one of the best political memories of my life. He wasn't perfect and didn't want to solve all our problems. He wanted government out of the way so we the people could solve our own problems with our own initiative, innovation and HARD WORK. He would be extremely dissappointed with todays Republican Party. I like to think he would now be a Libertarian. Bless President Reagan.

I don't care how progressive you think the middle east is, None of the middle eastern cultures or societies have any respect for westerners, yet they demand our respect. Well they don't have mine and I will never travel to that part of the world unless forced to do so. Nothing of any redeeming value comes from that area except petroleum. When the petro is gone that area will fall apart and the rest of the world will care less. Kind of like the new USA they make up the rules as they go.

We are going to see more and more of this stuff originating in Europe. Several European countries have been overrun with radicals due to their extremely lax immigration laws. I do not know if this is true now but a few years ago the number one name given to boys born in Germany was Mohammed. I believe that was about 3-4 years ago. Doubt if it has changed much. These immigrants are mosly there to suck off the German welfare state. Same in England. If you don't think that will happen here then here is what our new President has just done. I guess you could call me a conservative, Eric. I actually think of myself as a Jeffersonian Constitutionalist. As far as political party goes I am Libertarian. Apparently you despise everything this country stood for the last 233+ years. There are socialist, progressive, communist countries all around the globe. NONE even come close to the prosperity and genrosity of this country. I am sure several would welcome you with open arms. Now, back to the current discussion: I welcome any people of any religion from any country as long as they are here legally and are here to be apart of America. That includes embracing all the Constitution grants us as well as what it requires of us. There are several muslums who love America and are participating in the American dream and I welcome them. What I don't hear is condemnation from muslim leaders of the radical jihadists, and that sir is my problem.

I could care less what the rest of the world thinks of us. We are the only country that actually needs to build a fence to keep people out. (at least we did until the last 2 years and now Obama).
