Big Government : Sundays with Sherrod: 'Celebrating' 19 Awful Years

I have to go with oi812 on this one. Without Senators Collins and Snowe, Maine would probably fall into the 'D' column, and never come back. I take their ~50% Conservative voting record, and am happy to have it, from up there in snowy Stephen King land.

Big Government : Thursday Open Thread: Solstice Edition

That's a fake picture, by the way. One of the coolest fakes ever, but still fake. Here in Central Texas, the weather "experts" predicted all year that this would be a "very dry, almost drought-like" mild winter. So far we have had one of the wettest Decembers on record. We got another two inches overnight and are over 5 inches for the month, with more on the way this weekend. Oh, and it could snow, also, instead of rain, this weekend. In Central Texas. I thoroughly trust these idiots to keep me informed about Global Warming... NOT.

Gee whiz people, go watch the movie again. This was one of the funniest moments in the movie. She was the redneck cousin of the Griswolds: Cousin Vicki: I'm going steady, and I French kiss. Audrey Griswold: So? Everybody does that. Cousin Vicki: Yeah, but Daddy says I'm the best at it.

Big Government : Reid: ‘Millionaire Job Creators Are Like Unicorns…They Don’t Exist’

Ask that sad-sack sack-of-crap Harry Reid how many people Michael Dell and Bill Gates employ, combined. I know they are "billionaires" and not "millionaires", but I believe a thousand million make a billion, so technically they are "millionaires". Never mind, the filthy liar would probably lie about that, too. I'll answer for him: Microsoft: Worldwide 90,000+ Dell Inc. : Worldwide 100,000+

Big Hollywood : 'What’s Your Number?’ Review: Hilarious, Charming

No, he means "classic" GOOD movies like "Baby Face" (1930s) and "Ball of Fire" (1940s) where women NEVER slept around... oh, wait. Ok, he meant "The Girl Can't Help It" in the 50's or.. dang. I can't find a decade without movies like this. 60's had hundreds of movies like this and 70's.. OMG that's all they put out (get it?) in the 70's. The 80's INVENTED movies like these as comedies. I know, my dad hates it when I do this. But you can't selectively remember the past without it pushing one of my buttons. Hollywood has ALWAYS been as filthy as society will let them, and that will never change.

Big Government : 700 Arrested After Protest on NY's Brooklyn Bridge

They don't have a problem with Useful Idiots like Matt Damon, Johnny Depp or George Clooney making $20 million for each movie, doing nothing but pretending to be someone they're not. No, only if you make a lot of money by actually WORKING do they have a problem. They are all either Communists or Useful Idiots; either way, spoiled brats with nothing to live for. The cops need to stop standing there, taking abuse. Put up a large sign that says, "if you abuse anyone, verbally or physically, or fail to follow our orders, you will be arrested immediately." And then DO IT.

Big Government : Atlas Shrugged Comes to Detroit

I just finished "The Fountainhead". Two words: Read It. Ok, three words: Read It Now. Of course it cannot equal the masterpiece that is "Atlas Shrugged", but it is still an incredible book. You will LOVE it. My problem now? Everything I pick up to read next is crap. What do you read next, after reading two books that change the way you look at the world?

Big Government : Post Office Struggles Under Union Contracts, Retiree Costs

Cliff Guffey, president of the American Postal Workers Union, called the proposal “outrageous, illegal and despicable.” He would rather the Post Office (OUR Post Office, not HIS) went out of business than give an inch to his Communist scheme. Guffey, THIS is why Americans HATE the Unions now and want all of the Public Unions shut down, permanently. We also want ALL states to become "right-to-work" states. This is AMERICA, you Commie, and people should have the CHOICE to join a Union, or not. But you know that Unions won't last a week if the states all become right-to-work states and the Federal and State Governments stop being Union-forced.

Big Government : Gallup: Perry Surges to Double-digit Lead for GOP Nomination

Amen, brother LuigiMucci. Ten years is a long time for a person to be in power and still have the backing of the majority. Texas is the most conservative state in the nation, and we know Perry is the MAN. He has made a few mistakes but in ten years, who won't? Even my hero Reagan gave us amnesty and a few other things, but I still love him for his overall majestic love of America. I feel the same about Perry. He loves Texas and America with all his heart. He knows that the solution to the economy is to keep taxes low, and he has been fighting the Texas Legislature for years on that subject. Unlike others, I don't think he has done a bad job on immigration. Considering he has had to fight both the Legislature AND the Federal Government, I give him a B+ so far. Yes, you can find some speech he gave somewhere, pull one sentence out of the speech and base your opinion on that one sentence, but that just makes you close-minded, in my opinion. I'm talking to YOU, Tom Tancredo. Look at his actions, not the words of one sentence of one speech. I also believe he will be the most business-friendly President since Reagan.

Stop pasting your forwarded e-mails in here. If you are unable to do that, at LEAST do a little research on that stuff before you post it. That decision was handed down a year and a half ago. For goodness' sake, the Court isn't even in session right now, until the "First Monday In October", remember? Another hint was "Leading the dissenters was Justice John Paul Stevens" who retired a year ago last June, who, you might remember, got replaced by a Lesbian.
Big Government : Internal E-Mail Reveals Striking Union's Tactics Against Verizon

While reading that e-mail, I felt like I was reading the pages of Atlas Shrugged. Unions are Looters, people. This is very frightening. This Union Thug President is admitting that he would rather Verizon go bankrupt than have Union workers pay more than a measly 7% of their OWN health insurance. I pay more than that and I am happy to do it, because it is for ME and MY FAMILY. I don't understand why Verizon can't just move to Texas and go non-Union?

Big Government : Reid and Pelosi Appoint Fiscal Foxes to Serve on Super-Committee Henhouse

Ah yes, Mr. "Shared Scrifice" to the rescue. Put your money where your mouth is, DeepestSky: Start shouting for the repeal of ALL of the Bush Tax Cuts, if you dare. THAT is "shared sacrifice", sir. Taxes were lowered on everyone, so if "raising revenue" (the new Leftist slang for "raising taxes") is the real answer, let's raise them on everyone. Otherwise, you're just another class-warfare soak-the-rich Socialist parasite with no plan except "raise taxes and cut Defense" like all the rest of them, a looter of earned income, like the punks rioting in Britain. If you disagree with that sentence, please explain to everyone how the poor and the middle class are "sharing" in the "sacrifice". I am lower middle class and I haven't been asked to sacrifice anything yet. The poor people sure haven't been asked to sacrifice anything, either.
