I KNEW it! They just couldn't resist could they? I agree with the VEEP in this one. Maybe Nazir shouldn't have been hiding amongst a bunch of children. Pathetic. It's such a well acted show with one HUGE exception: the guy playing Brody is F-ing HORRIBLE. You can tell he's trying so hard to hide his British accent. I've never seen an actor struggle so hard to say monosyllabic words. It's quite distracting and completely takes you out of the story. The scenes between Danes and Patinkin are the best. I've also notices some sloppy continuity because Brody went from a Gunnery Sergeant back to a Sergeant in one episode and then was back to Gunny in the rest, and no, it wasn't a flashback. As an active-duty Sailor for more than 20 years I wish they would show us in a positive light and/or let the Americans be the good guys without all this BS moral equivalency.

Concur with the praise for the Aceman. I stumbled across his podcast on day 1. Didn't know him from radio. Been happy ever since. I just wish he'd bring back Deaf Frat Guy!

TOTALLY agree. I've met Connelly before at various book signings and remember when The Lincoln Lawyer came out he did a reading at the Borders in Torrance, CA. Great guy, great writer and the other Haller books are great as well. I sure wish they'd do some Harry Bosch movies. It would be a great vehicle for a Tom Selleck comeback!

I have loved yelling at my screen when Juan Williams is on. I believe he is a good and honest man. I was particularly and pleasantly surprised when he would fill in for O' Reilly. I think what NPR did was wrong and dishonest. Although I rarely agree with JW I sure love to see him spar with Brit Hume on Fox News Sunday. I wonder if Mara Liasson will curb her speech from now on. Glad we'll be seeing more of Juan on FNC. Maybe they can get rid of Alan Colmes, that wouldn't be so bad :)

Gary Oldman, his performance in Leon is spectacular. Kevin Spacey, his Lester Burnham in American Beauty was just amazing even though the movie had some very left political undertones. He is Keyser Soze! James Woods. Steve "Shut Up Donny!" Buscemi. DeNiro and Pacino shouldn't be overlooked.

I have often thought of this moral dilemma (maybe that's too strong a description) of enjoying a television show with an amoral premise. As a fan of The Sopranos and now Breaking Bad I struggle with rooting for a sociopathic protagonist. But I think that is the intelligent message of the show: you stop at some point and realize that ultimately their sociopathic behavior really doesn't pay off. Tony Soprano and most of his inner circle are killed at the end of the show and Walter White is seeing the results of his lifestyle by all the tragedy that surrounds him. He's lost his wife, Hank has been shot and there have been various threats on his life. Jesse Pinkman says it best when he initially turns down Walter's offer of partnership. Jesse tells him that everything he loved has been lost since he met Walter. I believe Walter refects and realizes that the same thing is happening to him. Captivating television, unpredictable, and along with Rescue Me, one of the best shows on television past or present.

John, once again you got it right on! I was waiting to see when you were going to weigh on on this and it's good to see that you make a reasoned and well supported argument. Greg, for a guilty pleasure (actually I don't feel so guilty) I encourage you to listen to Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Sure it's Pop/Disco but no one does it better these days. One listen of her album "Trip The Light Fantastic" and you'll be hooked. Unfortunately she hasn't broken big in the US. I guess we have to wait for all this Snoopuffpdiddyjayzfittycentkanye crap to run its course. Your thoughts?
