/Film : Cool Stuff: May The Best Prequel Win T-Shirt

How big is the Enterprise? How big is the Death Star? Doesn't anyone else think the proportions are way off for one of them? Kinda reminds me of that conversation in Clerks about all of those poor independent contractors...

/Film : Pixar's Up - What Did You Think?

So my cousin and I went to see UP at a 10:00 showing tonight at a theater about 30 mins away from us. We get into his car and a few miles down the road his check engine light comes on and we start to smell something burning. So we turn around, head back to my house and take my car. Now we're running late, so I start speeding down the highway a bit. We're making great time, but 15 mins into our trip, my muffler mount rusts out and my muffler starts dragging under me. Two hours and a tow later, I never got to see the movie. Apparently God would've preferred we see Drag Me to Hell.

/Film : The Buzz: Terminator Salvation is Horrible OR a Solid Summer Action Movie

Based on all of the negative reviews I read yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised with Salvation. This is obviously the biggest project McG has ever taken on and I think he did a passable job given the horrible script handed down to him. The action sequences were all shot well, there were a couple of real "wow" moments (Harvester sequence, helicopter shot, Production line sequence w/ Arnold), and the last 20 minutes play really well. I'm not as thrilled with Yelchin's performance as a lot of others are, but I do think he does a much better job here than in Star Trek. He's got a little bit of Biehn in his delivery, but he was also another victim of the script: "If you point a gun at someone..." Also, Worthington does a much better job getting an emotional response out of the audience in comparison to Bale. Funny how the half-machine is played as much more of a human character than the leader of the human resistance. No where near 1 or 2 but certainly a step up from 3.

/Film : Box Office: Watchmen Down 24% Saturday; Is Word-Of-Mouth "Killing the Masks?”

I loved the movie and I haven't read the books yet. If anything I hope the flick increases sales of the GN, I'm buying it ASAP so I can better undertstand what was happening on screen. Still, it's almost impossible not to find something to like about this film whether you're a Watchmen fan or not. The fight scenes were fantastic, Jackie Earle Haley's performance was top notch, even the opening credits were well done.

We were a VHS family, but I still remember my first (and really only) experience with LaserDisc at a friend's house, fastforwarding through Species to see some boobs. Thank you LaserDisc, for opening my pubescent mind to all sorts of new possibilities--and Natasha Henstridge's glorious rack.

/Film : Michael Bay vs. McG

What a great Comcast commercial. At least the guy knows how to take a joke. But these latest comments do come off a bit douchey, that's for sure. I have to say I am far more excited for Terminator than I am for Revenge of the Fallen. I hope McRib pulls it off.

No Donald Pleasance on the EFNY poster, what gives? Just watched Halloween II on TV last night, oh how I miss his gun wielding Dr. Loomis antics. Although I was disappointed with Zombie's remake, I'm interested to see what he does with this NOT remake of the sequel. And now I've just gone completely off-topic. Cool posters.

Agreed. Ledger's performance was too good not to be recognized in some way. He deserves this award in every way, he knocked it out of the park.

I was really happy for Slumdog, hopefully this puts it in a position to clean up at the Oscars. Also, you gotta love Mickey tripping up the stairs and that sparkly scarf thing he had on. As a former WWF/wrestling fanatic, I can't wait to see The Wrestler.

/Film : Box Office: Gran Torino Grabs $10M Friday, Could Reach $30M Weekend

In the last few weeks I've seen Button, Torino, Slumdog and Valkyrie and I have to say that Torino is second to only Slumdog Millionaire of the four, with SM being one of the most uplifting movies I've seen in a great while and a great surprise for me. In any case Eastwood is amazing in GT and deserves a nomination over Pitt by far. There's no doubt that Ben Button hit all the right notes from a technical aspect (CGI/makeup effects were top notch) but Pitt's performance was no where close to Eastwood's. If this is the Man with No Name's final performance, I say it's a great cap to a legendary career. If GT is out near you, and most likely now it is, do yourself a favor and see it.

/Film : Razzie Award Nominations - The Worst Movies and Performances of 2008

Rambo was probably one of the funnest movie going experiences I had all this year, no way should it be on the list. Sure Stallone had some cheesy dialouge, but we've come to expect that from his screenplays. Action packed, plot thin, blood-filled and awesome. Everything we could've asked for he delivered on.
