Fist of all, you don't have the facts or findings of the investigation as to what the complete circumstances were surrounding the shooting. Secondly, there is a difference in culpability between a sworn officer who is to protect and serve those who wish to do no illegal harm to others and an un-sworn citizen. Finally, Police are trained to act when lawful orders are not followed and there is a perceived threat to themselves or the public. AS emotional as everyone wants to make every shooting in Portland, they all have a common thread; no compliance of police commands. Like the police or hate the police, it's a personal choice for personal reasons. They have a high stress job to do that puts their lives on the line day in and day out. There are very few of us in the general public that can say we leave out families under the same circumstances day in and day out. If you hate the police because of a distasteful run in with them, think about your actions that you took to put yourself in that situation.
