Wonderful article--thanks for sharing your memories! I love the video of Andrew answering your phone call in the middle of a speech. Vintage Breitbart.

Big Government : From the Heart, from the Heartland, My Thoughts on Andrew Breitbart's Passing

I, too, didn't know Breitbart personally, but I have been here at the BIGS almost every single day since they launched. I have been in mourning since Thursday morning--Breitbart was one of my biggest heroes.

Big Journalism : What Andrew Taught Me

"Andrew’s first gift to me, then, was allowing me this intellectual playground." Andrew made some excellent choices in the writers here on the bigs. I have always enjoyed your contributions, Mr. Meyers. I am not an intellectual, myself, but I am also grateful for the forum that allowed me to have a voice, and to play on the playground with so many great thinkers and writers. Very nice article, thanks.

Big Government : Romney: A Campaign that Only Millions of Dollars Could Buy

Great article, I think it is spot on. Looking at the records of each current candidate, there is no one who hasn't succumbed to liberal ideas at one point in their careers (except perhaps Ron Paul, ignoring his take on National Security), and so the only thing to go on is what the candidates are saying now. Which one of them has a bold plan to tackle the out-of-control Washington spending? Which one of them is reaching out to conservatives? Mitt Romney needed to make one more flip-flop, he needed to admit the flaws in Romneycare. But he has stubbornly defended it, and he has done very poorly at making the case for conservatism. Trouncing Rick Perry for calling Social Security a "Ponzi Scheme," instead of acknowledging the problems with SS? Advocating a minimum wage increase? Lumping "millionaires and billionaires" with those who make 200 grand a year (same as Obama)? He hasn't even seemed interested in getting my vote, so I won't give it to him.

Big Government : Gingrich Eschews Rhetoric for Substance in CPAC Address

I know that Newt's closet has a few skeletons in it, and I have not always been a supporter. However, he is the only candidate, besides Ron Paul, who is offering bold ideas based on conservative principles. I like Santorum, but his plan for tax reform is timid in comparison. And Romney's 59 point plan? Well...if it takes 59 points to explain it, need I say more?

Big Government : GOP Strategist: Republican Establishment Fears Down-Ballot Disaster If Newt Wins Nomination

It's hard for me to sift through the facts, and come to any certain conclusion about which remaining candidate to support--but I think it's instructive to look at each candidate's enemies, perhaps more so than who has endorsed whom. Newt has an impressive list of enemies.

Big Government : Romney to Release Tax Returns Tuesday

When his rivals started attacking Bain, Romney finally got my attention by defending capitalism. When the tax issue came up, this could have been a great opportunity for Romney to talk about tax reform. How, wouldn't it be nice if we all paid a similar tax rate? How, under his presidency, we would get to keep more of what we earn? He could have talked about his charitable contributions, and pointed out that we are better at managing our money than the government is. This could have been a good opportunity for Mitt, but he let it go to waste.
