Public employees do nothing to contribute to GDP, again since they produce nothing and take from private business to fund their actions; any money spent by a federal employee was surrendered to them by the private sector. Maybe some parts of government do make less than an equivalent private sector job but in most cases like the homeland security department shouldn’t even exist in the first place. Also, the education requirements and experience to land a high paying private sector job are a bit different from our GED and community college educated government workers.
