The scientists can be justly applauded for using existing resources and coding a new organism, but they didn't create life, they coded an organism that they knew would work because of it's similarity to existing carbon based lifeforms. IMO, doesn't conflict with the Bible. Create a non-carbon based lifeform and I will be very very impressed. Still wouldn't conflict with the Bible, but it would be cool.
