I'm glad that you're enjoying The Kitchen House! And I'm glad that you see what I mean--a constant anxiety attack, but in the best way possible. I can't wait to hear what you think of the ending!

This is a great post! I haven't read A Tale of Two Cities since high school, so I don't really remember much of it except that I enjoyed it a great deal more than I thought I would. (And a great deal more than my classmates!) I've been wanting to read some Dickens, so I may just have to revisit this one.

This is a great post. I deeply love my own underappreciated books, and I LOVE finding out about other people's favorite underappreciated books, too. I have to admit, I love my favorite underappreciated books even more than the hype books that I love. They just seem more special to me.

And I have to add--I LOVED The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles. That was one of my first introductions into the fantasy genre, and I have never turned back.

Seriously love this post! :)

You're doing a lot better with your TBR list at home than I am! I've got way too many books at home that I've been neglecting. Best of luck with your resolutions!

I'm 21, about to graduate college in the spring, and scared to death about it. So I would LOVE to read about protagonists just getting started on their way. I think there would definitely be a market for it. I mean, just last week alone, I was visiting the YA section of my local Barnes & Noble, surrounded by a group of 12-13 year olds, a couple high school kids, and then a few of my friends from college. While I may be less prone to read about the tweens the older I get, the tweens might not want to read about college kids, but there is still overlap, and I think there would definitely be a sizeable market.

This is a great discussion!

This was a great review, as always! :) I've seen this book around, but the blurb on the cover is so vague--I'm glad you finally gave me some idea about what this book is about. At the risk of making myself sound twisted, I love reading twisted books (lol), so this looks like something I'll really enjoy!

I re-read this series a summer or two ago, and I agree--it's so great to have that different perspective reading it as an adult. I could still see why kids enjoyed it, but I took so much more symbolism and meaning out of it. Great review!

Oh, I am so glad that there is another person out there with the same feelings towards resolutions and reading challenges. I get so ornery about them. I did a holiday reading challenge this year, and even though I successfully made it through, I kept wanting to read everything but the books for the challenges. Lesson learned!

You know, this book has been on my to-read list for such a long time. I think it's about time I get around to reading it. It sounds so delightful. Great review!

I'm very much the same with hype books. I'm not really sure why, maybe it's just a little bit of rebellion in me. Once I get around to reading hype books, I usually end up loving them and completely understanding the hype anyway.
