New Bowling Balls, Bowling Bags, Bowling Shoes, and Bowling Supplies - bowlingball.com, Helping Bowl : How To Use Bowling Accessory Tape

Hi Jeanie, You are absolutely right - Using bowling tape on your thumb instead of the ball is a smart choice for flexibility. It allows you to adjust quickly if your thumb swells during a game, ensuring a comfortable grip throughout. It's a practical solution for maintaining consistency and comfort during long bowling sessions. Thank you for your input! Jessica

Hi Jeff, Thank you for your comment on this post. You are absolutely correct. Encouraging acceptance of different approaches fosters growth, especially among youth and newcomers. Witnessing the unique strategies of disabled players in leagues highlights the beauty of individual expression in bowling, fostering a vibrant and inclusive community of players. That is one of the most inspiring aspects of bowling. It is truly a sport for ALL to enjoy. Thank you again for sharing your positivity & kindness, Jessica

Hi Clarence, Congratulations on your impressive improvement! Your dedication to consistent practice, especially focusing on spares and release, has clearly paid off with a significant increase in your average score over the years. It's understandable how a drop in practice intensity can affect performance, as seen in the recent decline in your scoring. Your experience underscores the importance of maintaining a steady practice regimen to sustain and further enhance your bowling skills. Keep up the great work, and I'm sure your diligence will continue to yield positive results on the lanes! Good Luck & Good Bowling, Jessica

Hi Gonzalo, Thank you for recognizing the importance of exploring unconventional patterns in sports, such as walking left and throwing right. It's indeed surprising how little literature exists on this topic, despite its prevalence among professional players. Addressing questions like targeting in such scenarios challenges traditional coaching norms and opens up new avenues for understanding and improvement in sports strategy. Good luck & Good Bowling, Jessica

Hi DEBRA, In the USBC Open Bowling Championship, there's no handicap involved. It's a level playing field where bowlers compete based solely on their skill and ability. While this might seem intimidating at first, it's also a fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself and grow as a bowler. Embrace the experience, give it your best shot, and remember, every frame is a chance to improve and learn. Good luck out there! Jessica

Hello B.R. MULLEN, We would recommend consulting with a professional driller given your unique circumstances. Do you use a wrist support device when you bowl? If not, we would also suggest looking into one that may help add some stability to your release. A support like the Kool Kontrol Wrist Positioner (https://www.bowlingball.com/products/accessories/bowlingball.com/10022/kool-kontrol-wrist-positioner-right-handed.html) or Storm C2 (https://www.bowlingball.com/products/accessories/storm/13456/c2-right-handed.html) may be beneficial to your game.
Hi Clarence, We admire your dedication to the sport and your stamina to keep up with five leagues. Being part of a league team is some of the best practice a bowler can get. If you feel that your game or body is "taking a hit" though, it may be worth considering dropping down from five different leagues to four or less. This is purely up to your preference however. It's important to listen to your body as an athlete. Wishing you all of the luck moving forward. Jess bowlingball.com Staff

Hi Marge! Storm Rocket was a great ball! If you are looking for a replacement, both the Hy-Road and Revenant are excellent options. With your ball speed and the lane conditions you are bowling on, the Hy-Road may be the best option currently. Revenant is going to be an awesome ball, but if you're looking for something a bit more controllable, Hy-Road fits the bill. :) Thank you! Jess bowlingball.com

Hi there, Thank you for your comment. You've brought up a point that many league bowlers struggle with. Oil patterns are just one of the everchanging variables in our sport. It does seem that having a conversation with the league president or officers about the pattern change may be the best option for all parties involved. According to page 65 in the USBC Rulebook for 2022-23 season, "Leagues and tournaments will be required to certify using one lane condition designation based on the definition of each condition as stated in Rule 200a." There are three certification designations: Sport, Challenge, and Standard/House. This is where having a brief meeting with the league officers may come in handy for clarification on which certification designation your league is. Good luck and good bowling, Jess bowlingball.com

Hi The Old Inspector, Sorry to hear about your experience. Sad to say, but you are not alone in this kind of situation. It seems we need a better way of regulating the many ever-changing variables of our sport. Or maybe just better regulation of the testing of equipment. Once that happens, hopefully you and many others will reconsider national tournaments. Til then, keep up the good bowling! Jess bowlingball.com Staff
