Big Government : The 2010 Midterms: Businesses’ Final Time For Truth?

A perfect example would be a gallon of gas. Oil at $75/barrel equates to $1.50/gal of unrefined oil. In some states the federal and state taxes combined exceed $.70; thus, oil is transfered to refineries, refined, transerferred to local gas stations at a small profit, sold to public at a small profit, and the market price is about $3/gallon. Therefore, the gas station make a few pennies/gallon and "big oil" nets about 9% but government get 35% of the market price. And this example doesn't consider the additional cost of drilling regulations and government required gas blends.

Big Government : U.S. Pays $400 Million in Bonuses to Federal Employees

On the right track to where? If I understand you correctly, your point is that he hears well and is just antagonistic and vindictive towards the American people. If you are correct, then he can't lead us anywhere because we still have elections. I assert that he is so ideological that he ignores the people because he knows better. It explains the lies on big issues, like healthcare, Cap and Trade, etc; but that still doesn't explain small insults ie. returning the bust of Churchil. Because his big lies will only work if the people see him as trustworthy and possessing the country's best interest. And he can't achieve that if he constantly attacks basic American values and beliefs on a daily basis. It's as if he came here from another planet and decided to change everything; without any understanding of our culture and politics.

Why is it everyday this tone-deaf administration sticks a finger in my eye? In just 17 months they have done or proposed the following: - bail out GM---repeatedly apologized to foreign countries for USA actions---state that USA is not Christian nation--turned its back on Great Britian and Israel---thrown hundreds of billions $'s more down the drain with Fanny and Freddie---bought off politicians to pass heathcare---refuse to enforce immigration laws and invite the corrupt Pres. of Mexico to publicly chastise the good people of AZ. on our soil---discussed nationalizing 401K accounts---ignored tradional wreath ceremony on Memorial Day---repeatedly lie to us. Never mind, I forgot---it's Bush's fault.

Big Government : Washington Democrats’ Out-of-Control Spending Spree Needs to Stop. Now

One must realize that unlike Wall Street, where you must amass personal wealth before you can wield power, Washington is build on attaining power first then accumulating wealth. That power comes from having control of the purse strings. Notice how many people go to Washington with middle class economic status; then somehow, after earning about $175K/yr. leave years later very wealthy. There is no way that wealth is built with their respective salaries. It is built by controling legislation that make others wealthy. Politicians determine winners and losers with their power and thus, increase their wealth. It makes no sense for them to give up spending and taxing control; regardless of party affiliation. Mr. Boehner's speeches will not change that.

Big Government : Can Republicans Win the Hispanic Vote?

Most conservatives will agree that CA. represents the problem and TX is closer to the answer; but do we have the time to make that arguement? The Hispanic influx creates problems for Republicans paralleling those created by the oil spill. Immdediately stopping the influx of new illegal Hyspanics must be the priority before we worry about the long term effort of trying to win the hearts and minds of those already here. It will take years to clean up both messes, but first the source must be eliminated. Closing the the border would be ideal but since that won't happen, do the next best thing: TX and NM join AZ and establish a united front, thus forcing more illegals into CA which will hasten the demise of CA and make the contrast between socialism and freedom more stark.

Big Government : The Ass Obama Should Kick Is His Own

Because my experience is, when you talk to a guy like a BP CEO, he’s gonna say all the right things to me. I’m not interested in words. I’m interested in actions.” It seems the president doesn't want to have dialogue with a CEO of a corporation legally doing business with his country during a crisis but he encourages unconditional conversations with terrorist supporting nations. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/jan/21/barac... I guess he thinks he will get insightful honesty from terrorists.
