A Newbies' Summary: Okay, so it’s 2257 and it’s the dawn of the Third Age of Mankind, and Sinclair is the last commander of Babylon 5, the last of the Babylon stations. As narrated by Londo. Also, don’t think I didn’t notice the camera lingering on Delenn when he said it could be a dangerous place. G’Nar’s people are the youngest of the five races, have no telepaths, but do have manpower, and were once invaded by the Centauri. Her people (which I somehow misheard as Lambari) are the eldest, technologically superior, can do nifty party tricks with gravity and plenty of other things I’m sure with those rings and crystals(?) behind door number one. They had Earth at its mercy 10 years ago but … surrendered by order of the possibly holy Grey Council (first rule of GC, you don’t talk about GC). This was all tied into Sinclair’s missing 24 hours and his attempt to ram the ship. Londo, the pretty shark, says the Centauri Republic now control twelve worlds consisting of monuments to their once great empire. Family history plays a huge part of current place in society, and parts of said society don’t approve of their imperialistic history? So how long until they want to relive their glory days of being space sharks? And the mysterious Vorlon. How long until we see under the suit? And you can’t trust any of them. Or the humans, who have their own problems with corruption. … Fuck. Give me more. Sure, the dialogue is essentially [Insert exposition here], and I’m not quite sold on all the acting, but it’s a pilot and I love me some world-building and there is so much damn potential here. I probably won’t be keeping up with Mark’s pace and posting but yeah, I am intrigued.

Random Notes: … Well, that didn’t take long for the obligatory Gargoyles reference. I’m watching the Amazon version which doesn’t synch with Mark so I’m on my own for this one. The other version sounds more interesting. Also, the CC on this version kind of fails. -All these species! OMG the Muppet! Can the Muppet be a character? -What’s the point of the light circling the work station? That’s got to be so fucking annoying. Otherwise, I really like the set and the triangular window. -Alien sector? Are you segregating? Oh, there are actual health/atmospheric reasons … okay I’m really liking the thought put into this. -“Sooner or later everyone comes to Babylon 5.” (Shut up, with your way too meta line) -Babylon 4 vanished within 24 hours. That better be a major plot point down the line. -The war ended 10 years ago. -Hey, it’s the Librarian’s distant cousin, the Bartender. -The graphics don’t hold up well, but the imagination and thought behind them is cool. -Trading vessel Ulysses. Ah, the romantic interest. She’s going to die. Or disappear for 10 years. Can she just be Odysseus and be a badass? -I’ve recognized the name Sinclair and Centauri. And Londo. Not!Lando. -Universe Today newspaper -Lol way to bring attention to the fact that you want privacy. -Ewwww. Go away G’Kar. -The Narn Regime? Are the only ones without telepaths. -… what the what. How do they afford to keep this species as a main part of the show? I predict something’s going to happen to them. -Human turned to stone upon seeing Vorlon. Is it a gorgon? -So the Earth Alliance has Senators, an Earth Force, and no UN. And Mars Colonies and corruption. -Babcom. Lulz. -Um should she be touching the ambassador without permission? Dangerous to look, but touching okay? -Shapeshifter? -Lol the red dot. -Rocking that psi broach -You saw it, but can you see it in his mind? No, you can’t. Because it was someone else. -How long can they maintain G’Nar blackmailing Londo and how will the truth be revealed? -Ahahahaha the baseball diamond wall hanging in the station commander’s office. -“Every star an exploding ship.” -Take a recorder – which is a mini UFO. I want this to tie in with historical accounts of flying saucers or the such. -BBG? Big Blaster Gun? -I like the officer’s uniforms, but what’s with the huge white button downs? -And there it is, the fighting the duplicate trope. -A hole in your mind? -Okay, that font is horrible for actual use but looks cool -Christmas bonus -Tiger sector? Or is this the aforementioned Tigris sector? -How long did it take to do people’s makeup? It looks really neat but must have been a pain in the ass. -Bwahahaha he put a nano-tech transmitter that lasts 5 years in an ambassador. That’s all a bluff isn’t it? -Yup. -Okay, I like Sinclair. -Really, they use the suit?
