The concept of real investments as "play" money makes a lot of sense to me. I have retirement earnings in low-risk investments, and a completely separate mindset for those funds. The money I invest in stocks is money that I'm willing to bet with- maybe dollars I could otherwise spend on lottery tickets or movies. Not sure I'm as willing to give up mochas!
