Pink Raygun.com : Are Superheroes Poor Role Models for Boys?

You're right on in being being confused as to the ideal. Basically, you can't be aggressive, but you can't be passive because if you are aggressive you are a meat head and violent and if you are somewhat passive, you are feminine. You can't be too muscular because again you will be a meat head, but if you are too skinny you are a nerd. If you are really dumb, than you are stupid, but if you are too smart you are a nerd(it is insane that people see a problem with being too smart). You must be sensitive to the needs of others, but not sensitive in terms of inner emotions(because then you are a wimp). You have to drink beer because well, I don't know I can't answer that one. Basically you need to be mediocre I guess. It's pretty sticky. I'm sure there's a similar list of things like this for women.

I liked this pilot a lot(I love reading about the intelligence community), and I think James Dale is the perfect mix of mad scientist and everyman. I just wonder how much legs a story like this has.

Pink Raygun.com : The Sci Fi Craptacular- What Terrible Looks Like

Let's be real. The cheesy sci fi movies they make have their charm, and don't take away from other quality content the channel makes. Stargate, Warehouse 13, Eureka, and Caprica are all quality shows in their own right. That's pretty damn good. Plus, like other people said, Dune and some others have rocked pretty hard. So bring on The Attack of the Amazing Shark-Hamster!

Movies cost a lot to make, and most fail. Ticket prices need to be high. And ten bucks for someone's blood sweat and tears is not a lot.

Pink Raygun.com : Lost: The End

Hmmm...Well I can certainly respect that, but on a show like Lost, I watch in part to see a mystery unraveled. If doesn't happen I can't but feel that it is kinda cheap. It's interesting that you watch in a totally opposite way.

Pink Raygun.com : Lost: The End

I think the issue is that there wasn't even a mystical explanation. Yes, they explained the flash-sideways with mystical stuff, but they left all the mysteries unanswered. It is usually implicit that when you watch a mystery you will get an answer. The writer's of Lost said they left the end open ended because people like to speculate about Lost. Thing is, people would not have speculated if they didn't believe there was an answer. That is the point of speculation. Imagine watching something like Chinatown where all this weird stuff happens and then it just ends. They also didn't bother to connect any of their plot dots at all or earn anything that happened. They basically teased answers so they wouldn't have to be accountable for making sense. Jack asks Jacob about the island about the island and Jacob says, "it's a light" and this satisfies him. What? Normally in drama you need to be able to accept that characters make decisions that make sense for the situations they are in. This isn't like BSG because in BSG they at least answered a lot of questions: "Will they find Earth" "Who is the last cylon?" An entire season was spent on the numbers. What did we end up with? Nothing. An entire season. Many of the themes were thrown out the window. Faith vs. Science, forget about that watch Sawyer and Juliet make out. Yes they serviced what I always thought Lost was about, "Can people change?" But if was really only about characters, why didn't they just make grey's anatomy on an island?

i remember in middle school, there was a girl wearing an Evangelion shirt, so i proceeded to start geeking out on it, and then she was like "What are you talking about, my aunt just bought me this shirt!" it was a lil embarrassing. Geek clothing can be deceiving!

does anyone else have some confusion with Zoe's motivations? I don't quite understand her. What's her end game? If she hates tech, why was she into programming? Is there any "normal teen girl" in her? Does she care about her parents? Her father? Her mom? Her friends? Does she really like that guy? I don't think there's any character on tv that's confused this much. She's worse than Don Draper.
