Sorry to hear about your cancer and prognosis Tricia. I wish you well. You appear to be well supported in this fight and that will give you an advantage. My wife has been fighting brain cancer all her life. We currently have no health insurance, and have not had any for a couple of years. We can't afford any testing and can barely get her medications which are all in the hundreds of dollars per bottle range. We are a living example of the desperate need for health care reform in the U.S. Sorry to get up on the soapbox. Again, I wish you well, take care.

You guys talk like you're all safely employed. I am unemployed right now after a very successful 20 year career in IT, and I have unsuccessfully been looking for IT work in Washington state for over a year now. I cannot find anything else either. Not even a burger flipping job. It's a bizarre all-or-nothing job market where the only available option is full-time and only Albert Einstein (if he will accept a minimum wage), high school kids, and special interests can get hired. I will do anything. If you are hiring please let me know.

I know where you're coming from Shane, and good luck to you. Through no fault of my own I am an unemployed computer programmer (one year and one month now) and I have stopped looking for work. I didn't qualify for unemployment. I have been begging for IT work for so long now that I have stopped begging, and started looking for any type of job. What I have found is that if you don't have a job right now you are locked out. There are none. Zero. You can be Mr./Mrs. perfect and it won't get you anything better than another HR beat-down. I'm overqualified for damn near everything but I obviously don't have the right age, connections, military service status, nationality, skills, or sex to land any jobs right now.

8 years seems obviously and really wrong to me for killing someone. Think about how many times someone has just got out of prison and viciously attacked and killed a friend or family member of yours. A friend or family member like Jonathan P. Case with a young son who forever lost his father and his whole world because of Henry E. Langley. I don't want this guy back on the street in 8 years or even 80 years..
